It seems that the audience’s favourite couple Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai won’t be re-uniting on the big screen after rumours that they’ll be seen together in Farah Khan’s next flick.
Rumour had it that filmmaker Farah Khan had plans to cast Shahrukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai together after a gap of 11 years, in her next movie, ‘Happy New Year’. This couple was last seen together in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Devdas’. It was being reported that Farah had signed her buddy Shahrukh for the role and approached Aishwarya for the project. Even Katrina Kaif was considered for the lead role.
But according to our sources, the decision regarding the female lead remains inconclusive. Though SRK has been confirmed for the role, several actresses have been approached including Sonakshi Sinha and Parineeti Chopra.
Farah is still on the hunt for her lead actress in her film and rumours also suggest that she might pair Shahrukh opposite to a newcomer. ‘Happy New Year’, is based on a story about friendship and it features Abhishek Bachchan, Boman Irani and south indian actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, according to our sources.
When asked if he was offered a role in Farah’s next flick, Prithviraj said, “I had an informal meeting with Farah. She told me the premise of the film she is doing. And I have not read the script yet, no concrete offer has been made to me.”
“I have not said ok to it officially. So nothing is concrete and confirmed. It was a very vague premise that she told me but it was very funny and exciting,” he added.
