The winners of 60th National Film Awards which are also known as Indian Oscars are announced with Irrfan Khan winning the best actor award for his sensational performance in ‘Paan Singh Tomar’ and Marathi actress Usha Jadhav won the best actress award for her performance in ‘Dhag’.
Paan Singh Tomar also won the best feature film award and Nitin Kakkar’s Filmstan won the best film in Hindi. Other Bollywood films that won the accolades include Vidya Balan starrer ‘Kahaani’ which won best screenplay award and Paresh Rawal starrer ‘Oh My God’ won the award for best adapted screenplay.
Sensational Telugu director SS Rajamouli’s ‘Eega’ won the best Telugu movie which was released as ‘Makki’ in hindi.
Annu Kapoor who delivered excellent performance in ‘Vikcy Donor’ shared the award for best supporting actor with Dolly Ahluwalia for the same movie.
NASA scientist Bedabrata Pain who turned film-maker by making the critically acclaimed Chittagong has won Best Song and Shankar won Best Playback Singer for Bolo Na from the same film.
The jury of the national film awards is headed by Basu Chatterjee this year.
