Amitabh Bachchan recently said that filmmakers should make projects based on real life subjects, which affect the society.
Big B meet a girl named Kankana, who is making a documentary on violence against women, and has sought the 70-year-old veteran’s video byte for it. He is impressed with the effort so much that he went on his blog and showed his support for the cause.
“It is a brave effort on her part to construct a subject through film, her first, on a subject that is so prevalent in society today, and one that needs to be addressed immediately. Good luck to her. Directors should come up with more films on real subjects,” Bachchan posted in his blog.
” The world of cinema in India is changing. Offbeat films like “Paan Singh Tomar”, “Kahaani” and “Vicky Donor” have tasted success and have won National awards. I think those movies should be taken as inspiration and drive more people do realistic films. I do realise my standing and that it does not weigh too heavily when in comparison with the young. But I shall endeavour and put in hard work and perhaps attempt to be in the company which deserves mention,” he added.
