Tamannaah’s 36 metre Himmatwala skirt!

Even though the film is garnering mostly negative reviews, the Himmatwala actress Tamannaah seems to be going places with her performance in the remake of the 1983 super-hit film of the same name.

And now in news is Tamannaah’s skirt in the Naino Mein Sapna song! Yes you heard it right! We hear that the skirt was made out of 36 metres of fabric. It seems that designer Ricky Roy spent hours with the director to chalk out the details.

“Sajid sat with Rick for every change with the actors. He was very clear that the costumes should not be similar but should match the flavour of the songs from the original film,” says a source from the set.

Sources close to the designer say it was quite a feat and that he did a wonderful job.

Ricky says, “The skirt was not an easy task to complete. Five people sat together to stitch it and I was worried how I would finally manage to complete it. Tamannaah managed to carry it off really well.”

On the look of Tamannaah in the movie, Ricky said,”The 1980′s was a bright era. Sajid made me see some 20 movies before my first meeting and the one thing that was constant throughout those movies was the big, chunky blocks or bright colour in the clothes. I was very sure I wanted to use it. I wanted it (the look) bright and colourful not dark and dingy.”

So shall we say Tamannaah is in news because of the skirt or is it the skirt that is getting footage because of Tamannaah? We hope there will be more to write about than her skirt in future!
