Music Review of Rangrezz : Repetitive

Rangrezz is an upcoming film starring Jackky Bhagnani, Priya Anand, Rajpal Yadav and Amitosh Nagpal in the lead roles. It is directed by Priyadarshan. Rangrezz is a Hindi remake of Tamil hit film Naadodigal,The film is produced by Vashu Bhagnani and releases on March 21, 2013.

Songs :

The album has 5 tracks and all are originals, no remixes. Music is given by Sajid-Wajid and Sundar C Babu. The former contributed  3 tracks and Sundar C Babu, a south Indian composer who has composed for the original movie ,debuted with this movie with 2 songs.

The album opens with “Dil ko aaya Sukoon”, which has qawali tune to it and has Rahat Fateh Ali and Hiral Brahmbhatt behind the mike. The song is just okay, it looks very repetitive like all the collaborations of Sajid- Wajid and Rahet. Next song is “Govinda Ala Re” , isn’t this song being re-used too many times. Sung by Wajid, this song is just average. “Shambho Shiv Shambho” sung by Sukhwinder Singh is good. With the singers high pitch vocals and heavy beats the song is a good listen.

“Shambho Shiv Shambo” another version of the song composed by Sundar has got more traditional touch to it. Shankar Mahadevan voice in this track gives a devotional touch to it. The last song is “Yaaron Aisa Hai” , composed again by Sundar Babu is the pick of the songs from this album. Sung by Salim Merchant this song is about friendship. Salim’s soothing voice and slow music makes this song my only favorite.

BottomLine :

Only Sundar C Babu’s music is good while Sajid-Wajid songs are very repetitive and boring.
