Shahrukh Khan and Amitabh Bachchan in Balki’s next

Yes! You heard it right! The superstar duo which was last seen together in the 2008 film Bhootnath, will be seen sharing the screen in R.Balki’s next film.

In Bhoothnath, Shahrukh Khan made a special appearance and Sr.Bachchan was the lead. Earlier, they had worked together in the multi-starrer, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna. Preceding that, they had worked together in Aditya Chopra’s Mohabbatein,Yash Chopra’s Veer-Zaara, Amol Palekar’s Paheli and Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham.

The buzz going around is that Balki’s film is to be produced by Big B’s ABCL and SRK’s production house, Red Chillies Entertainment. Also, it is being said that the duo will be involved in the distribution process of the film.

“The content of the film is a closely guarded secret but the two actors have agreed to work in the project because of its unique and interesting storyline,” says a source from the industry. The source added that Balki had been on the lookout for a script that would suit both the actors and looks like his search has ended fruitfully.

While Shahrukh will be associated with a Balki project for the first time, Amitabh Bachchan has starred in both movies the filmmaker has directed so far. He was the hero of Balki’s debut film Cheeni Kum, and then essayed a National Award winning performance in the 2009 hit, Paa.

Shahrukh Khan is busy wrapping up Rohit Shetty’s Chennai Express and Amitabh Bachchan is shooting for Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha in Bhopal.

Considering that Balki’s projects generally have unusual subjects with strong story lines, it will be interesting to watch what this venture is going to offer.
