After a long wait of almost 2 years, producer Vidhu Vinod Chopra has finally announced to take forward the super hit Munnabhai franchise with not one but two scripts, making it part 3 and part 4, which will be shot back-to-back.
Very recently, Arsha Warsi had confirmed that Raju Hirani had locked the script of the film and that the shooting would go on floors by end of 2013. It now turns out that while discussing the third installment’s script, the director and producer sprung with the idea of a script within the script.
So now Chopra has confirmed a fourth installment.
“Hirani and Vidhu were discussing the story of the third Munnabhai film. As things developed, they realized that there was a story within the story and there was scope to develop it into a separate film. Both had a long meeting regarding this and finally decided to add a fourth installment to the franchise,” a source from Chopra’s office told.
But there’s one bad news. The 4th installment will not be directed by Hirani, instead, a new director will take on.
Part 3 will be shot in India and Part 4 will have Munna and Circuit travel outside the country for the first time.
