The Supreme Court has issued a notice to Megastar Amitabh Bachchan, over tax dues. The Income Tax Department had claimed that a whooping sum of Rs 1.66 crore has to be paid by Big B, which he earned through his show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ during 2001-02.
The veteran actor said he is ready to pay the dues. However, reacting to the latest development, he said, “both death and Income Tax Department are inevitable in life.”
“There are two things in life that one will have to face – death and I-T Department. Both are inevitable. In any case I will follow the Court’s order,” Bachchan told reporters. He was at the first look launch of an upcoming film ‘Jolly L.L.B’.
Mr Bachchan revealed that by January-end, he will get back to doing films. “By end of January, few films will start and hopefully by the end of this year, you will see me on screen,” the 70-year-old said.
The film is directed by Subhash Kapoor of ‘Phas Gaya Re Obama’ fame, and stars Arshad Warsi and Boman Irani. ‘Jolly L.L.B’ revolves round the Indian judiciary system and will see Boman and Arshad essaying the roles of a lawyer.
Bachchan was the chief guest at the event. “I am truly impressed with the promo of the film and I really liked it a lot. I hope the film achieves great success,” he said.
