Best Bollywood films: 19th Annual Colors Screen Awards

From a long list of 119 Bollywood films released in 2012, a total of 27 films were singled out by the jury of the Screen Academy. After several rounds of discussions and debate, the jury put together the nominations.

Barfi!

Bollywood film Barfi!
The film topped the list with maximum votes, not just for the story but Best Director and Best Actor categories too. 75% of members had voted for the film.

English Vinglish

A hot favorite with the Academy, English Vinglish, starring Sridevi, came a close second with 55% approving it.

Gangs Of Wasseypur

An crime film co-written, produced and directed by Anurag Kashyap, centers around power struggles, politics and vengeance between three crime families.

Kahaani

Bollywood film Kahaani
Kahaani is a thriller film directed, co-written and co-produced by Sujoy Ghosh. The film features Vidya Balan, Parambrata Chatterjee and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in lead roles. Balan, a pregnant woman goes in search of her missing husband in the city of Kolkata during the Durga Puja.

Paan Singh Tomar

Bollywood film Paan Singh Tomar
A biopic, Paan Singh Tomar, was received well by the critics too.

Vicky Donor

Bollywood film Vicky Donar
The Bollywood film stood third with 45% of the Academy members rooting for the romantic comedy. The film opened strongly at the box office and was declared a Super Hit by Box Office India. The storyline is based on the concept of sperm donation and infertility.
