Talaash crosses Rs 50 crore mark in the first weekend

Talaash opened with a bang at the box office, with the film doing very well at multiplexes compared to single screen theaters. The occupancy rate at multiplexes ranged between 60 to 80 percent, in the morning shows and the graph only peaked higher as the day passed. Evening time saw a terrific response, on the opening day.

Directed by Reema Kagti, The film headlines Aamir Khan, Kareena Kapoor and Rani Mukerji in the lead roles. The film’s early collections raked in between Rs. 14.50 to Rs. 15 crore on its opening day, which is a very good start, knowing the fact that it was a non-festive weekend. The film has crossed Rs 50 crore mark at the domestic business centres in the first weekend, thereby smashing the opening weekend record of Aamir’s last release 3 Idiots.

Factors that worked and is still working for the film is: word of mouth,. which has played a magic for it at the collection centers and the suspense of the film is said to have mainly attracted the attention of the cinegoers. Most reviews have been very positive.

Overseas too, Talaash has opened very well, particularly in the UK, Australia and New Zealand.

The film has all potential to enters the Rs. 100 crore-club in the first week itself.
