Deepika Padukone is all set to attempt action once again, in Race 2, with her first being ‘Chandini Chowk To China’. However, Race 2 is an intense action thriller, and Deepika is super excited about being a part of this genre.

Deepika says, “Abbasji-Mustanji (directors) have mastered this genre. I was a bit nervous during the first couple of days since this is the first time I’ve attempted an action thriller, but they gave me a lot of confidence and made me feel comfortable.”

The actress is mostly seen in romcom films. However, Race 2 will be a refreshing change for us and her fans too. DP’s character in the film is dark and shady.

Abbas reveals “Despite her romantic heroine image, she had no qualms about playing a character that had grey shades. We were keen on casting her as the role required someone really glamourous and sexy and yet look convincing while pulling off stunts. We were prepared to use body doubles in case she didn’t want to do the action herself as the scenes required some risky stunts. But she surprised us all by not only committing to do them herself, but by actually doing them well.”

He adds, “she will be seen performing some thrilling car chase sequences which are the highlights of the film. Just like her character, she is equally fearless in real life and looks very convincing on screen. She was even comfortable handling guns, which I haven’t seen in many actors. She’ll easily be one of the hottest action babes in Bollywood.”
