The In My City singer, Priyanka Chopra is in Hyderabad for shooting the Zanjeer remake, and Farhan Akhtar has warned her against doing too many remakes and getting typecast.
Priyanka Chopra tweeted: “In Hyderabad for ‘Zanjeer’. Starting a new film always makes me nervous.”
Zanjeer was originally made in 1973 by Prakash Mehra, and it stared Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan is the lead roles. The remake will be produced by Amit’s son, Prakash Mehra.
In the remake, being directed by Apoorva Lakhia, southern star Ram Charan Teja and Priyanka Chopra are playing Vijay and Mala, respectively.
Farhan Akhtar tweeted: “Priyanka Chopra, do you realise that this is the third official remake of Amitabh Bachchan you are in? Be careful you don’t get typecast.”
Earlier Priyanka had featured in the remakes of 1978 film “Don” and 1990 “Agneepath”.
Well, Priyanka wouldn’t mind that too much, as her last film Barfi! was superb and she was also critically acclaimed for her role in the film. The actress also launched her debut album, In My City, featuring Will.i.am.
