Since the last couple of years, Salman Khan has been the king of the box office with his Eid releases. And this year too, his Ek Tha Tiger stormed the box office and became one of the biggest blockbusters. But, will Eid 2013 see a change? apparently, Shahrukh Khan wanted to clash against Sallu on Eid with his film Chennai Express.
Clashing against Salman on Eid can be a deadly attempt for any superstar, but SRK and director Rohit Shetty were raring to clash against Salman with Chennai Express slated to release on Eid 2013. Sallu’s film Sher Khan which was supposed to release on Eid hasn’t even taken off yet, and maybe that’s the reason why the production house that’s producing Chennai ExpressA, UTV were ready when they heard the idea of releasing the film on Eid..
But what Shahrukh Khan and Rohit Shetty didn’t anticipate was that Salman wouldn’t let his Eid slot go easily, as he decided to remake the south super hit Brindavanam which will be directed by Sohail Khan, and is also slated to release on Eid 2013.
Well, this news didn’t go down too well with Rohit and SRK. As soon as they heard about Sallu’s plans, they decided to postpone their release by another 2 weeks.
Chennai Express will now hit the theatres with a 2-3 week gap from Salman Khan’s Brindavanam remake.
Shahrukh Khan will next be seen in Yash Chopra’s Jab Tak Hai Jaan, while Salman Khan will return as Chulbul Pandey in Dabangg 2.
Wouldn’t it be great to see Shahrukh Khan vs Salman Khan at the box office?
