It’s been more than a year since Aishwarya Rai has worked in a film, but finally, Ash is back. The beautiful actress is gearing up for a comeback into Hindi cinema. In Fact, she already has a script in mind, a script offered to her by none other than her close friend Mani Ratnam.
A source said, “Whenever Ratnam has offered Ash a role or a script she has always respected it. This time too, it was the same.” Mani Ratnam was also the person who launched Aishwarya in the south film industry. Then, they worked together in Guru and since they are close to each other, she also worked with him for Raavan in 2010.
So, what’s the film about? It’s Mani Ratnam’s adaptation of Daphne Du Maurier’s famous 1938 novel Rebecca. Aishwarya Rai will play the character of Mrs de Winter in the film.
According to the sources, Ratnam is currently working on the script and is trying to do his best in adapting the entire novel into a more contemporary Indian setup.
If things go as planned, Aishwarya Rai will start shooting for the film late next year and is expected to hit theatres in 2013.
