Vidya Balan’s Kahaani was a success and now, the actress has given a green signal to the film’s sequel ‘Kahaani 2′.

Vidya gave a wonderful performance in Sujoy Ghosh’s blockbuster mystery thriller Kahaani, where she played a pregnant woman who arrives in Kolkata in search of her missing husband.

Sujoy is almost ready with the script of the films sequel.

Says co-producer Jayantilal Gada, “We are making Kahaani 2 with Vidya. Kahaani tasted super success. So why shouldn’t we ride on it? My nephew Kushal Gada and Sujoy will be jointly producing it.”

Sujoy also said, “Vidya is the reason I wrote Kahaani, so I need her in the sequel too. The good thing is she never tries to write the script but only encourages. She also listens to my grumbling.”

Says an insider, “Earlier, Sujoy had other plans. But now he is sure and is going ahead with the second part of Kahaani. Kahaani 2 will also be set in Kolkata. It will have several mystery elements.”

Kahaani, which released worldwide on March 9, 2012, was critically acclaimed and was a blockbuster at the box office.

Filming will start in 2013.
