It was one of the most hyped films of 2007, made on a budget of Rs 35 crore. However, the film was a dud at the box office, with film critic Taran Adarsh calling it “a disjointed script, abstract style of narrating the story and excessive length”.

Saawariya: This movie was directed by one of the best directors of the Hindi cinema, Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It marked the debut of Ranbir Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor. Made on a budget of Rs 40 crore, the film was a big time box office dud. However, Ranbir and Sonam’s performances were praised, and Ranbir even went on to win the Best Male Debut at the Filmfare Award.

Ta Ra Rum Pum: A family-drama that stars Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukerji in the lead, the film is directed by Siddharth Anand. Though the film opened to an average response and collected a decent number (Rs 78 crore), it managed to fail at the box office. Yet another hyped film of 2007.

Raavan: Despite the film having a very strong star cast, with Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai and Vikram in the lead roles, Raavan was an utter flop at the box office. Made on a budget of Rs 30 crore, the film managed to collect a total sum of Rs 28 crore only. With all the hype surrounding the film, audience expectations were soaring high. However, all their hopes clashed when the film was declared a flop.

Love Story 2050: A science fiction, starring Harman Baweja and Priyanka Chopra in the lead, the failed to generate a good response. The film was made on a budget of Rs 60 crores and collected a total sum of Rs 40 crore only. Buzz18.com said that the movie just “drags on” being an excessive three hours long. And another super hyped movie gone down the drain.

Kites: A romantic drama directed by Anurag Basu, the flick was all hyped up for its cast which included Hrithik Roshan and Barbara Mori in the lead. However, despite its strong opening, the film was eventually declared a flop at the box office. Rajeev Masand of IBN said “Thrilling action set-pieces, a super-fluid dance number to show off Hrithik’s killer moves, and repeated glimpses at the toned bodies of both lead stars. It’s almost enough to forgive the uniformly bad acting of all supporting cast”.
