Ranbir Kapoor who has grabbed all eyeballs for Barfi!, has reportedly walked out of Abhinav Kashyap’s second film, ‘Besharam’, reason being, a dispute over the paycheck.
The film was already in trouble due to the producers (Viacom 18) abandoning the project in the last minute, reason being the fat paycheck he demanded. Now Ranbir’s decision of moving out has upset the director even more. It is heard that the director also approached a few other producers like Reliance, but none were ready to bear the expense.
Says an insider to a daily, “One of the reasons Ranbir walked out is because Viacom 18 had pulled out, after which, there wasn’t much happening on the film. Yes, Abhinav tried taking the project to many other producers. However, with Ranbir’s busy schedule and too many film offers, the actor didn’t want to further block his dates for a project that isn’t even taking off.”
Buzz also has it that Abhinav went back to Ranbir with a price that was one-third of what the actor demanded. This upset his father Rishi Kapoor, who refused to agree on those terms
‘Besharam’ was to roll end of the year, but now Abhinav wants to shelve his project.
