It is now confirmed that Priyanka Chopra has replaced Kareena Kapoor for the lead role in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram Leela.
Anju Modi, the costume designer of the movie confirmed the news. “I am designing for Priyanka, Supriya Pathak and to some extent Ranveer Singh. I was supposed to design for kareena Kapoor, but now it’s Priyanka. Both are divas and i am equally excited.” The designer told the media in an interview.
Originally Sabyasachi Mukherjee who worked with Bhansali for Black, was going to design the costumes but Sanjay chose to go ahead with Anju Modi. This is the first time Anju is going to be designing for a bollywood film.
Priyanka will play the female lead opposite Ranveer singh. The romantic film is set to release in 2013 and it’s based on shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet.
