Box office reports… ‘Ready’ still going strong…
The antics of the irrepressible idiot in Bheja Fry 2 might have been panned by the critics, but the film did manage to register a good opening-weekend collection at box office.
Though the response was less than expected, Bheja Fry 2 scored much better than the other releases of last Friday, namely Always Kabhi Kabhi, Bhindi Baazaar Inc, Bin Bulaye Baarati and Cycle Kick.
Bheja Fry 2 made Rs. 2.05 crores on Friday. The collections went slightly up on Saturday with the Rs. 2.25 crore figure and further on Sunday with Rs. 2.35 crores. The aggregate first-weekend collection was Rs. 6.65 crores, which, though below expectations, isn’t bad considering that the other films fared very poorly over the weekend.
Always Kabhi Kabhi, produced by Shahrukh Khan and introducing Zoa Morani, got not just bad reviews but also failed to attract crowds to theatres. Likewise, Bhindi Baazaar Inc, despite promising promos, was very dull. Bin Bulaye Baarati did fare slightly better in the northern belt, and Cycle Kick was almost a washout.
Still going strong, however, is the Salman Khan blockbuster Ready which collected Rs. 8 crore in its third weekend. The film has so far made more than Rs. 108 crores and is a superhit.
Salman-Katrina’s Ek Tha Tiger to be shot in Iraq….
The YRF project, Ek Tha Tiger, is taking the genre of a romantic thriller to a whole new level. The Salman Khan Katrina Kaif starrer directed by Kabir Khan, would be the first Bollywood film to be shot in Iraq.
For obvious reasons, acquiring the permission has been quite a feat. Reportedly, YRF sent a letter to the Iraqi government a few months ago, requesting for permission to shoot a major action sequence in the country with Salman.
Not only has the government granted filming permissions, but has also made provisions to ensure the security of the cast and crew. And to top it off, the government has made arrangements for the crew to commute by helicopter from one shooting location to another.
According to a source, “It was expected that the permission would be granted. We guess Iraq wants to convey loud and clear that all is well in their country.”
However, as with most decisions that affect the Dabangg man, the move to approach the Iraqi government did not happen before Kabir and YRF sought Salman’s permission. The source added, “Salman is extremely excited about shooting in Iraq. When Kabir Khan told him about the schedule in Iraq, he immediately agreed.”
The director is scheduled to leave for Iraq today to scout around for the exact locations for shoot. The source explained, “He will be zeroing down on the spots where Salman will shoot. He will return in a week. After that, he will go to Iraq with Salman, in August.”
Unfortunately, Salman, who will have to stay in the country for a minimum of eight days for the action sequence, will experience this rare opportunity solo, as his off-screen ex-girlfriend and the film’s lead actress, Katrina Kaif, will not be needed for the shoot.
Bollywood on Bachchan’s good news!!
The film fraternity has been pleasantly surprised by the news of Aishwarya Rai’s pregnancy. Expectedly, the Bachchans have been flooded with good wishes and congratulations from friends, family, and fans.
While Abhishek Bachchan has been maintaining a calculated silence over Aishwarya’s pregnancy, it was Amitabh Bachchan who excitedly broke the news to the world on his blog and Twitter page. Within minutes, good wishes poured in from everyone.

Amitabh Bachchan also went on to quote a well-wisher who spoke about the relationship between dada and pota (grandfather and grandson).
“Thank you all so much for all the blessings and greetings and the good wishes .. yeh sach hai ki pota Dada ke liye uska bachpan lekar aata hai .. wrote a well wisher .. ‘it is true that a grandchild brings along with it the child in the grandfather’ … and I could not agree more with this,” Amitabh wrote on his blog.
Aishwarya’s pregnancy will not disturb ‘Heroine’…
Amitabh Bachchan announced to the world on Tuesday night, about a happy stork visiting the Bachchan household. But amidst all this joy, Aishwarya has no time to enjoy the celebration with her family, as she is currently jam packed with her dates for Bhandarkar’s ‘Heroine’.Though is was thought that director Madhur Bhandarkar may not be too thrilled by the news.
Madhur, we hear, is equally happy for Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bachchan.
Moreover, he can take heart from the fact that Aishwarya won’t stop shooting for his film ‘Heroine’ which is already on the floors. Just last month, Aishwarya, Madhur and Ronie Screwvala had announced ‘Heroine’ at Cannes, following which the movie’s shoot began in Mumbai.
Even Ash’s baby bump won’t disrupt the film’s continuity because Aishwarya’s role requires her to gain weight.
It appears that everything came together just at the right time for Aishwarya.
In ‘Heroine’ Aishwarya Rai plays a once successful film actress Mahi Khanna whose career is on the decline. The movie aims to reveal the underbelly of the movie industry and its well-kept secrets.
We hear that Bhandarkar plans to wrap up the film’s shoot in 45 days after which Aishwarya Rai will have a lot of time to rest and go on a maternity leave from Bollywood.
In fact, Ash’s pregnancy may turn out to be a blessing in disguise for ‘Heroine’ because a lot of fans might throng to theatres just to see the movie that Aishwarya shot during her pregnancy.

Zarine Khan is back with a bang….
The newbie of Bollywood , Zarine Khan has been offered a juicy lead role in director’s debut
It has been almost a year that Katrina look alike Zarine Khan was seen on screen. The newbie is now starting afresh in B-Town.
After the release of the period drama last year, there was buzz that the Katrina Kaif lookalike was being considered for the Sallu starrer Kick to be produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. But now Shotgun’s daughter will do the project.
“Dabangg was the biggest hit of the year while Veer did not do well. So the scenario changes completely,” reasons Zarine who was spotted by Sallu on a film set and went on to be his heroine.
“Ultimately, it is the director’s call. Before me, Deepika Padukone’s name was also being mentioned for Kick.”
She adds, “I did get offers after Veer, but I did not want to be in a tearing hurry. I wanted to be extremely cautious and select the right film,” she points out.
“I did not want to do just any film and regret it later. I am not a star kid or come from a film family. So I have to be extra careful as there will be no second chances for me.”
Presently, Zarine has been offered debutant Guru Sharma’s action film Cocaine. He is the cousin of musician Monty Sharma (Saawariya).
The action flick has the actress do some high-octane scenes. “I have liked the script and I am considering it.” Since the past several months, she has been gymming it out to lose the flab she was asked to put on for Veer.
During the shoot, Sallu had put her on a chocolate diet to pile on the kilos. The actor had personally taken interest in her diet making sure she gorged on cakes and pastries, as her role required her to look fuller.
“I am back in shape to what I was,” says Zarine who had accompanied Salman to Aamir Khan’s bash for the Academy Award-winning music composer Gustavo Santaolalla in June last year. “And yes I am looking at
B-Town anew.”

Salman Khan cycled from his home at Bandra to RK Studios at Chembur on Saturday for the shoot of Preity Zinta’s Guinness World Records — Ab India Todega. As reported ‘In a tearing hurry’; Hitlist, March 15) Sallu features in the show and will part of the finale episode which will air after a couple of weeks.
Sallu made it a point to be part of the reality show due to his buddy PZ. The star considers cycling a sure-shot way to fitness and often cycles to his shoots.
SRK-Aishwarya in Swades sequel???
Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan will share screen space in Swades sequel.
This movie will mark the return of the hit jodi of Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai. Sources claim that the duo after making waves in Devdas, is planning a comeback.
The jodi never worked together after Ash’s then boyfriend Salman Khan created a ruckus on the sets of Chalte Chalte, which was made by SRK’s home production.
But now that SRK and the Bachchan family are friends again, the two might work together on screen.
SRK has even asked his old friend Sanjay Leela Bhansali for help. Shah Rukh and Sanjay had worked together in Devdas which proved to be a major hit at the box office. And now the star has shown a keen interest in working in another film with him.
Bhansali is keen to work with SRK too. After having made a flop film such as Guzaarish with Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan, the director has been looking for a bigger opportunity with bigger actors.
His earlier film Saawariya too had flopped and his discovery – Ranbir Kapoor – has also been giving him a cold shoulder.
Apart from talks with Bhansali, Shah Rukh is discussing another project with Ashutosh Gowarikar.
Yash Raj camp’s favorite lady, Anushka Sharma???
Out of Anushka Sharma’s four films so far, three of them has been under the Yash Raj banner. Well, we guess she is the favorite lady of the Yash Raj camp.
Rubisshing all rumors about her signing a secret long-term contract with the Yash Raj Productions, the actress say, she has no limitations as such and is free to work with anybody. She believes that it is purely because of her talent that Aditya Chopra is offering her roles and she feels lucky to work with Bollywood biggies at such an early stage of her career.
Well, very soon, we will get a lot more from her as she is currently shooting opposite Ranveer Singh for her upcoming movie Ladies V/s Ricky Bahl. Priyanka Chopra wiped off from Kaminey sequel…
While director Vishal Bhardwaj and Shahid Kapoor have joined hands for the sequel. But what came as a shock is the omission of Priyanka Chopra in the second part of the film, a role, which won the actress a number of awards.
We hear that Vishal is working on the script of Kaminey 2, And the script apparently doesn’t have a role that will suit Priyanka. It is also heard that the flick won’t be a sequel in strict sense but a film with a fresh plot and story altogether.
According to a source, “Vishal is currently scripting Kaminey 2. He will first direct a film with Ajay Devgn to be co-produced by Devgn, Kumar Mangat and himself. He will then start working on Kaminey 2, for which Shahid will have to prepare once again.
Vishal wants Shahid to work on the six-pack look to play one of the twins. Right after Kaminey 2, Vishal will direct 2 States with Shah Rukh Khan for producer Sajid Nadiadwala.”
