Ranbir-Priyanka link-up stories continue…

Bollywood beauty Priyanka Chopra and the naughty Ranbir Kapoor, shared a strong chemistry, the last time they shared the screen in ‘Anjaana Anjaani’. There were link up stories between the two. But despite the speculation the two maintained that they are just “good buddies”

The so called “good buddies” are back to rock the screen in their forthcoming Anurag Basu’s ‘Barfee’. So ione can expect the sparks to fly once again.

Says a source, “The two had a five day schedule together. When the two met, they looked like they just picked up from where they had left off the last time around, just like any friends would. In fact, strangely there were no hints of them ever being a couple, nor any awkwardness despite the rumours they’d had to dodge the last time they shot together for Anjaana Anjaani”.

Another source close to the stars added that their busy schedules had kept them from staying in constant touch with each other. “But both were happy to have met again. It’s just that unlike their last film, this time the nature of thefilm is quite serious, so the two didn’t joke around as much. The two are, however, looking forward to begin shooting together again in August, when Priyanka returns from the US,” added the source.

Incidentally, both Ranbir and Priyanka are making sure that they keep their private lives out of the limelight taking extra measures to ensure that they don’t get linked again. “Both have been written about extensively for their past relationships and now the two only want to concentrate on their careers,” said a source.

Aishwarya Rai is off on her maternity leave…

Aishwarya Rai is off on her maternity leave…

Aishwarya Rai’s pregnancy has put filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar and UTV in a fix. The pregnancy news which is a very very good news to the film industry is not real gone down well with the makers of Ash’s forthcoming flick, Heroine.

Ash’s role in the film is supposed to be that of a sexy superstar at the helm of her career. But this is not possible anymore. The makers have thus decided to put their venture on hold for a while.

“Soon after Madhur heard about Aishwarya’s pregnancy, he called the producers and they decided to meet. So, director Madhur Bhandarkar and the producers Ronnie Srewvala and Siddharth Roy Kapoor met up at around 4pm on Wednesday.

While the producer UTV has still not declared it officially, the buzz is that Madhur has decided to stall the shoots for the film,” revealed a source.

Say’s the source, “No one, including herself knew about the pregnancy. She wuld never have started shooting for the film otherwise,”

In fact Madhur was surprised to hear about the pregnancy. “He was hoping that Ash would be able to shoot the film, but that is unlikely now. What they have already shot are portions where she needed to look older. The next schedule required Ash to lose weight and also dance, which obviously is not possible now.

The final call will however, be taken in another meeting scheduled in a couple of days,” added the source.

The film that had gone on floors barely a fortnight back, was initially supposed to be completed within 60 days.

Saif all set for a zom-com…

Saif all set for a zom-com…

Director duo Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK are all set to make a zombie comedy. The duo had a success with their last, critically acclaimed Shor in the City.

This zombie comedy will be the first out-of-the-box, unique concept for the Indian audience. The latest buzz we hear is that Saif Ali Khan will be playing the central character, probably the zombie. However, the zombie character has been kept under wraps.

According to a trusted source, “The film is produced by Saif Ali Khan’s Illuminati Films and is tentatively called Go Goa Gone. It is a horror comedy, a mix of two unlikely genres. Incidentally, Saif has been quoted saying that he wanted to make a horror film for some time now. Something like this has never been done in India.”

He further added “Preparation on the film started a few months ago, and shooting is about to start. Saif loved the idea in the first few minutes of hearing the concept and wanted to do it immediately. Saif will play a central role in the film while his sister’s boyfriend Kunal Khemmu will play an integral part.”

When contacted, Raj and DK said, “After Shor, people said we should do a romcom. And we thought, why not do a zomcom instead? We have had this story idea for years, but we think now is a great time to do this film. And the best person to do this with is Saif. Also, GGG is a complete change from Shor. A complete horror comedy with a lot of action thrills and chills.”

Ajay Devgn all set to make audience forget Dabangg’s Chulbul Pandey…

Ajay Devgn is back in action, something he does best. Ajay will be seen playing the role of a tough cop in his upcoming flick Singham. His role will surely make you forget Dabangg’s Chulbul Pandey for good.

The actor is currently in Goa, shooting for the action thriller directed by Rohit Shetty.

“It’s a film about men,” explains Devgn. “‘Singham’ will mark the return of hardcore raw action to the cinemas with a lot of dialogue-baazi and machismo. It should sock a punch; it will connect to the man on the street because of its simple narrative and terrific action.”

Director Rohit Shetty is super enthusiastic about the film.

“My hero Bajirao Singham (Ajay) is a simple police officer who is happy to toe the line till he is provoked by baddie Prakash Raj to show his ferocious side. And when Ajay does that, hell breaks loose,” quips the stylish director.

This movie also marks the return of the raw desi action seen in Indian film earlier.

“I have not used a single foreign fighter or imported any foreign equipment for my film. I personally feel indigenous action has a better impact than all the foreign stunts that people are obsessing about these days. As Indians, we identify with our style of raw action, which we have sidelined because some of us have suddenly developed an affinity to the West. To each his own, but for me what works is our own desi action,” Shetty adds.

Singham is a remake of Tamil film of the same name. The story revolves around a Sub-Inspector named Singham, who is a brave policeman. He serves in his hometown primarily to fulfill his father’s wish. Singham settles every dispute in his town patiently with his words of wisdom and resorts to force only when the situation demands it. A city girl who comes on vacation to Nallore, falls in love with Singham.

Southern hottie Kajal Aggarwal is the leading lady of the film.

Singham is due for release on July 22.

‘Delhi Belly’ gets clears without any cuts…

‘Delhi Belly’ gets clears without any cuts…

The Censor Board has given Aamir Khan production Delhi Belly, an ‘A’ certificate. However, the team of Delhi Belly can heave a sigh of relief as the Censor has cleared the film without any cuts.

The song Bhaag DK Bose has already been turned down by many critics as it has a hidden double meaning. The movie also has a few sizzling hot scenes showing Imran Khan getting an erection in the bedroom with his girlfriend, or him watching porn videos or the liberal use of vernacular expletives used in the language.

Keeping all this in mind, Aamir Khan and director Abhinay Deo had applied for an Adults certificate and that’s what they got from the board. However, Aamir Khan has always maintained that the content of Delhi Belly is strictly for Adults Only.

The movie releases on July 1.

Zoya Akhtar in dilemma; to retain or tone down a three-minute kissing scene in ZNMD…

Zoya Akhtar in dilemma; to retain or tone down a three-minute kissing scene in ZNMD…

As reported earlier, ‘Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara’ has a 3-min long kiss between Katrina Kaif and Hrithik Roshan and now, Zoya Akhtar, the director of the flick is planning on toning it down.

Just a few weeks ago, Zoya had to tone down the sizzling chemistry between Hrithik and Katrina in the song Ek Junoon from the same movie, as it was a little to HOT. Also since it was a group song, Zoya felt that the duo’s chemistry was takng away the essence of the group number.

Now, Zoya is faced with another dilemma; to retain or tone down a three-minute intense kissing scene filmed on both of them.

Revealing the nature of the scene, an insider elaborates, “After a severe exchange of words, Hrithik’s character Arjun leaves in a Buick. Katrina (Laila) chases him on her bike. Stopping his car, she forces him out and pinning him on the bonnet, kisses him. And it’s a rather long scene, about three minutes long.”

“When they saw the first cut of the song shot during the Spanish Tomatina festival, Zoya felt that the chemistry between the two actors was too much for a group song,” adds the source.

“Hrithik’s kissing scenes with Barbara Mori in Kites and Aishwarya Rai in Dhoom 2 were talked about a lot. Kats’ liplock with John Abraham in New York was hyped too.”

A highly trusted source maintains that the scene is very crucial as it conveys the strengthening of Arjun and Laila’s romance. “That’s why Zoya is finding it difficult to decide on how much of the kiss to retain and how much to leave out,” source says.
