Asin missing from Salman’s ‘Ready’ world premiere, in Dubai…
Salman Khan’s most awaited film ‘Ready’, is all set for its dhamaka world premiere in Dubai. But, the film’s leading lady Asin Thottumkal will be missing from action there.
The reason for her absence happens to be another man, a friend of Salman’s, Sajid Nadiadwala.
Asin who has been signed on as one of the 18 actors in Nadiadwala’s Housefull 2 had applied for UK visa since she would be needed in London for shooting a part of the said film. Her passport, as it happens, is still stuck there.
A source informed, “Asin has given her passport to Nadiadwala Grandsons, the production house for her next film, since she’ll be joining the crew in London immediately after Ready releases. She wants to go but now she can’t.”
Asin confirmed the news and added, “I was looking forward to the world premiere of Ready happening in Dubai. Both Salman and I were supposed to go but now I am stuck.
I have not given up hope though and I am ready to fly even at the last minute. I am just praying that I get my passport. I have even packed my bags. Let’s hope that the passport comes at the last minute and I get to attend.”
‘Ra.One’ gets entry in the Limca Book Of Records..
As reported earlier, Ra.One happens to be Shahrukh Khan’s dream project and so the actor can go to any extent to see the films success. The latest we hear is that SRK has planned to start the longest fan mail for the film. It will earn an entry in the Limca Book Of Records.
This is a unique pan-India promotional tour that will last as long as five months until the release of Ra.One on October 26 this year. The campaign begins today in Mumbai and will soon travel to five cities: Delhi, Chandigarh, Indore and Ahmedabad.
Says a source, “He plans his film’s promotional strategies himself and in tandem with his team. Now he has planned the events in such a way that before the sci-fi thriller releases, every Indian city would have heard of the film.”
The source adds, “From today, he kicks off an inter-city tour that stars, normally do just a month before the release.
But, in a first-of-its-kind strategy, SRK will be travelling to five cities every month. He will span 25 cities in five months. While SRK travels solo for this tour Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal join him for the other tours.”

When Katrina encountered a Shark…
Katrina Kaif plays the role of a diving instructor in Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, and essaying this role wasn’t as easy as she thought. The delicate actress had a scary encounter with a shark.
Prior to the film’s shoot, Katrina was trained in deep sea at the Otter’s Club in Bandra. The training involved control over breathing, and also the ability to manoeuvre oneself at depths. Kats was so perfect at it that she could even sit down at the bottom of the deep pool.
During the actual shoot of the film, Katrina dived into the ocean and just then a shark passed by her. The lady did not notice the danger but the crew overhead began gesticulating to give her a warning. However, Katrina just swam around, took a dive and emerged after some time.
Later, when the crew told Katrina about the shark, she was petrified.

Imran Khan’s sudden ‘naughty boy’ image on-screen is making waves all over. In an interview with Zoom, he talks about his lover boy roles, brand wars Ranbir Kapoor and popularity polls.
After SRK and Salman, you’re the hot new loverboy…
I think I’m cast in romantic roles partly because of the way I look, and my age. There’s certain age where you fit into those roles, you have to grow up a bit before you can do more serious roles.
So you wouldn’t experiment like Ranbir did in Rajneeti? In fact, people felt it was too early for him to play that role?
The first major experiment that I’ve done is Delhi Belly, which is not a romantic film. Apart from that, most of my work is in the classic commercial Bollywood style. I don’t think Ranbir made a wrong choice because Rocket Singh was his third film and he was excellent in it. The film didn’t do well commercially but got a lot of critical acclaim. I see absolutely nothing wrong in pursuing such roles if it suits you.
Your brand war with Ranbir made headlines…
We have our brand loyalties, and we endorse rival soft drinks, but that war had started even before we were born. He does more endorsements than me, so I don’t think we intrude in each other’s space. Even in terms of films, we have our own space, and there’s a certain level of respect we have for each other. I know he’s never said anything wrong about me, and whenever there’s a doubt we talk man-to-man.
Marriage has obviously not affected your popularity?
The top stars in our country are married and there’s never been any debate about their popularity. In fact, I believe it adds to your popularity because people see you as loyal. And I wouldn’t like to change my real life image, because that’s who I am. I’ve always been open about who I am, whether it’s my relationship with Avantika or my friendships. I think people see me as a nice, romantic and dependable guy. They don’t see me as a casanova; hence, I get offered a certain kind of roles and brands.
You think Ranbir’s single-ready-to-mingle status gets him into media trouble?
That’s true, but the fact is that Ranbir is a young star and he’s in a position where he can enjoy life. He’s not attached to any one person, and if he enjoys life, wine, women…there’s nothing bad about it. Ranbir’s not doing anything illegal, but if media wants to write about it, you can’t stop them. Its unfair to say what he’s doing is wrong.
Recently, Salman said that after the Khans, Ranbir and you are the next superstars…
“It’s scary because today the three big Khans are still ruling Bollywood, and younger stars like us are trying to catch up with them. Sometime soon, the industry will turn to us and we have to take it forward. It’s a big responsibility.”
Though Aamir still rates Ranbir as a better actor…

After Amrita, it’s Sonakshi to lose diamond jewellery…
Sonakshi Sinha’s diamond jewelery worth lakhs went missing from her vanity van on the sets of her upcoming movie, Joker.
The theft occurred when the actress stepped out for a while during a late-night shoot.
Says a unit source, “She looked around in the van. But she was sure that she had kept it along with her other stuff. She then asked around but nothing came of it.”
Adds the source, “However, Sona remained calm. She did not want to raise a ruckus and delay the shoot.
No one would own up immediately and it would be an exercise in futility. In any case, the unit realised about the theft much later.”
Director Shirish Kunder says, “My birthday was on May 24 and the cast and crew were ushering it in on the sets. Akshay (Kumar) had planned a celebration.
This is when Sonakshi’s diamond solitaire earrings went missing from her vanity van. The theft occured at Film City. Sonakshi’s diamond solitaire earrings were stolen. A police complaint has been launched.”
However, Poonam maintains, “There are so many people who lose things or have their stuff robbed. Let Sonakshi be, so what if she is a star? I can only laugh about it now. Nothing was stolen.”
Rajnikanth shifted to Singapore
It’s been almost a month and a half now, since Megastar Rajnikanth is battling poor health. He is now being shifted to Singapore for further treatment.
The Tamil actor took ill on the mahurat day of his new film Rana. He is presently hospitalized at Sri Ramchandra Medical Centre (SRMC) in Porur, Chennai.
News has it that the actor has been booked as a “wheelchair passenger” on the Singapore Airlines flight. He will be accompanied by his wife and two daughters.
Despite the doctors claim that Rajni is responding well to the medication he is on, yet, there seems to be no real progress in his health condition.

Hrithik-Katrina Kaif get messy with tomatoes… The messier, the hotter..
Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif had to get messy with tomatoes for a song in Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara. The messier it is, the hotter it looks.
However, the movie buffs won’t get to witness their amorous necking and petting in the song that has Kat and Hrithik wallowing in tomato pulp and puree and smashing tomatoes on each other. The song, shot in Spain with the film’s star cast and tons of tomatoes, turned out to be too hot for public consumption, it seems. Even the stars couldn’t handle the heat. So they requested the director to tone down the sizzle.
The song is about the four friends just like the theme of the film.
Shahrukh booed by Mumbai crowd..
Shahrukh Khan was missing from the Mumbai’s Wandkhede Stadium on Wednesday evening where his team Kolkata Knight Riders and the Mumbai Indians had a crucial match.
The reason Shahrukh stayed away from the stadium is because he is hurt over being booed by a section of the Mumbai crowd when he cheered his team in the match against Pune Warriors at DY Patil Stadium a few days back. Since the Pune team included Ganguly, the former captain of KKR, a part of the crowd was rooting for Ganguly to spoil the Riders’ progress in the points table. But when KKR won over Pune, the irate crowd booed and jeered at Shahrukh.
According to the KKR co-owner Jai Mehta (husband of Juhi Chawla), Shahrukh has decided to stay away from all the IPL matches in Mumbai stadiums.
Previously also, Shahrukh has shown his fragility in handling criticism and negative comments from fans. When a couple of people posted abusive messages on his Twitter page, he almost quit the micro-blogging site. Now, he’s boycotted the visit to the stadiums in Mumbai.
