Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is all set to attend the Cannes Film Festival, come May (11-22).
The light-eyed beauty is aware that her red carpet looks will draw a lot of attention, as usual. And if a source, who is part of a major design house’s team, is to be believed, then dressing up Ash these days is a bit of an added effort.
No, it’s not tantrums that the source was hinting at, but that the actor’s apparently fluctuating weight reduces her number of choices of red carpet outfits.
The source says that this was the case when Bachchan sprung a surprise by sashaying down the red carpet of the recent Academy Awards in LA, with hubby Abhishek.
“Aishwarya is a very beautiful woman and very classy at that. But we couldn’t dress her up for the Oscars because she had put on a little weight. And our new line was full of gowns in light shades, which would not suit her because of this reason. I think that’s why she finally chose a dark brown number and it worked well too,” says the source.
Well, that was a few months back and sources close to the actor say that she has shed a few extra kilos since then. To give Bachchan the benefit of doubt, she was on a holiday back then and it is only natural that one lets go of their strict schedules during such times.
