Salman’s involvement in ‘Ready’…
The fight on the sets of Ready in Bangkok, which drove the director Anees Bazmee back home, was just a start. Looks like Salman Khan, the lead actor of the film is quite jittery after the fate of the filmmakers last two films at the box office.
Leaving nothing to chance, Salman Khan is personally overlooking the final edit of the film. Needless to say, after two consecutive superhits, Wanted and Dabangg, the actor wants nothing to go wrong with his career.
A source explained, “While he is busy with his shoots for Bodyguard, he has his trusted people checking on the progress. As soon as he gets done with the shoots, he heads to the facility himself, where he personally oversees the edits.”
When contacted, Bazmee did not dismiss Khan’s involvement with the post production work but however, underplayed the actor’s efforts. He said, “He is excited about the film and has been keeping a close watch. But he does not sit for the edits.
He is shooting for Bodyguard, from morning to night, and does not have the time to sit for edits. However, since he asked, I sent him a portion of the cut, which he returned with his suggestions.” When questioned if Ready is being edited at Sight and Sound, he denied, saying, “We are editing at a facility owned by T series and not at Salman bhai’s production facility.”
Khan previously edited his film Dabangg.

Looks like there wasn’t much time to spare between the mahurat shot of Rana and the subsequent press meet for Deepika Padukone. The actress kept the choli blouse from the colorful half sari she donned for the mahurat, pairing it (the blouse) with a red sari for the press meet later on.

Pune Warriors at Salman’s party….
Salman Khan hosted a dinner for the IPL team Pune Warriors last night. It was an impromptu party held at Salman Khan’s temporary house in Film City where he is shooting for Bodyguard.
Though the Pune team lost the match to Chennai but it didn’t dampen Salman’s spirit to treat the young cricketers.
A source says, “Salman is very close to Subrata Roy of Sahara Group who owns the team and his sister Arpita Khan is a close pal of the captain of Pune team, Yuvraj Singh. Salman hosted the party jointly with his buddy Baba Dewan.”
Giving out details of the menu, the source adds, “Salman had specially arranged Mughlai cuisine for the young men in black and the booze was free-flowing.”
The guest list included friend like Kangna Ranaut, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, Zarine Khan, Farah Khan, Shirish Kunder.
Dum Maaro Dum at the Box Office…
Last Friday’s release Dum Maaro Dum is going pretty dull at the box office. Though its was a three-day weekend, less, in fact no competition and the special paid previews on Thursday, yet, the flick did not live up to the BO expectations.
Thanks to Rana Daggubati, the film fared slightly better in the southern belt. Its three-day collection stands at a little over Rs. 16 crore. Monday saw a tremendous drop, with an average collection of around Rs. 2 to 2.25 crore nett.
However, the flick hasn’t been declared a flop, yet……
Happy Belated Honeymoon for Lara and Mahesh…
Actress Lara Dutta and Mahesh Bhupathi have finally taken out some time for their honeymoon. It has been more than two months since they got married.
Soon after their wedding, which took place in Feb, the couple zoomed away to Dubai for Bhupathi’s tennis match in Dubai Open. Thereafter, both Lara and Mahesh have been very busy with their packed schedules, that they hardly found time for each other.
Lately, she has been busy promoting Chalo Dilli which is her maiden co-production and stars her opposite Vinay Pathak.
After the film releases this Friday, Lara and Mahesh plan to finally head off for what could now be called their belated honeymoon.
Buzz has it that the two would be flying to Bali for their honeymoon.
Ajay Devgn, a good and a bad guy….
Ajay Devgn is all set to play a double role for Abbas-Mastan next.
Says a source, “The Shemaroo project has Ajay essaying both positive and negative characters. The story revolves around a robbery. AJ has wanted to play a grey character for some time now and was waiting for the right time.
When the director duo narrated the character of an intelligent conman, he was very excited. Shooting begins in South Africa and Dubai by year-end.”
Confirms Devgn’s spokesperson, “Yes Ajay is in talks with Shemaroo for playing a double role but it’s too early to say anything. Once everything is finalised, we will announce it.”
Shazahn Padamsee-Sreesanth, the new item???
Till few days back, news had it that cricketer S. Sreesanth was dating Riya Sen and now, the latest we hear is that Shazahn Padamsee is the new girl in his life.
I rumour are to be believed, Sreesanth has become pretty friendly with the Dil tho Bacha hai actress. The duo have been going on long drives on the streets of Mumbai lately. When questioned Shazahn, the lady hasn’t denied that she has gone out with Sreesanth on occasions. But Shazahn says she and Sreesanth are “just good friends”. She did add that she finds Sreesanth “sweet”.

Abhishek Bachchan out, Rana Duggubati in….
Abhishek Bachchan has been replaced by Rana Daggubati in Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming action thriller Department, which additionally headlines Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Kangana Ranaut.
Varma tweeted: “Due to date prblms to match combinations wth othr actors I am going ahead wth Rana daggubati instead of Abhishek bacchan in Department”
In the film, Amitabh Bachchan plays a gangster turned politician, Sanjay Dutt and Rana Daggubati play cops.
The story focuses on the unconventional methods used by three cops in the course of their duty. Kangana, the only headlining actress in the film, plays Daggubati’s wife and soulmate.
According to Varma, “It is very much a guys’ film, with only one major female character.”
“She plays a very intense role in this dark, gritty and real drama,” he says.
Filming was to start in April, 2011, but early in the month Varma announced that production start has been pushed back to May.
Vidya Balan with a Big bump….
Director Sujoy Ghosh’s Kahaani with Vidya Balan as the lead is being shot in the skinny alleys of Kolkata.
The shot was captured in an intense moment as the director explained a complex shot to the beautiful Balan, who was sporting a poorly fitted baby bump next to the iconic Ambassador taxi.
Kahaani is said to be the story of a NRI woman who comes to Kolkata looking for her missing husband.
While Ghosh has been tight-lipped about his project, sources say it is a whodunit meets revenge drama.
Anurag Kashyap- Kalki Koechlin to tie the knot…
They have been together through thick and thin, completely different from each other and yet bonded by love — Anurag Kashyap and Kalki Koechlin have finally decided to get married.
April 30 is the day when these two lovebirds will take marital vows amidst family and friends. The marriage is reportedly in the beautiful hill city of Ooty where Kalki’s mother stays. The couple, who recently admitted that they got engaged in January, has invited around forty people. The marriage will be attended by only a few from the industry. Kalki has also met her in-laws in Benaras (Anurag’s hometown) during the shoot of Anurag’s forthcoming film, Gangs Of Wasseypur.
The maverick director of Dev D confirms the marriage to a tabloid, and clears that the marriage will be devoid of any pomp and show and would be a very simple ceremony. As both Kalki and Anurag are very private persons they don’t want media to be part of their wedding ceremony. The couple will wed in South Indian style, and as per reports, Kalki will wear a Kanjivaram saree and Anurag – a dhoti.
This is Anurag’s second marriage. His first wife was film editor Aarti Bajaj, with whom he has a daughter named Aaliya.
Kalki and Anurag’s love story started from the sets of Dev D, and since then the two are like inseparables. They have been living together for last two years, and have even bought a new house.
