Dia & Genelia at Filmfare Pre-event party
Filmfare organizers who are busy for the grand day of Saturday which will see the best performances of 2009 being awarded with prestigious Filmfare lady, threw a pre-event party at Mumbai’s JW Marriott yesterday to celebrate the nominations. The night also saw designer Manish Malhotra showcasing his creations whose showstoppers were director Imtiaz Ali and actress Kalki Koechlin.
Dia attended the awards wearing a Manish Malhotra rust colored dress. Genelia D’Souza turned many heads with her sexy short dress.
Genelia talking about Filmfare awards said, “No body does a film to get an award. But when you get one, it’s certainly a reward.”

At the recently held Filmfare Pre Event party at JW Mariott southern sirens Asin and Shruti Hasan posed for the flash bulbs happily.
Shruti who has been nominated for Filmfare best debut award for her performance in Luck said, “It’s very special for her to be nominated at Filmfare. It’s a great boost.”
Asin who won the best debut female award last year for her performance in Ghajini also talked about the award, “Filmfare is very special for me as it was my first ever award for a Telugu film.”

Shahid to pay tribute to Michael Jackson
Shahid Kapoor is all set to pay tribute to the King of Pop Michael Jackson by performing live at Filmfare awards night.
Shahid says, “The Filmfare organizers felt I could do the Michael Jackson tribute. And I took up the challenge.
“We didn’t have much time to rehearse, only four days. But I’ve grown up watching MJ’s music videos, am a huge fan, so it wasn’t difficult to master the choreography. I will be paying a tribute, not copying MJ. But it is better not to adulterate his steps.”
Shahid will be performing live at the awards night, while other celebrities will have their acts pre-recorded.
Shahid says, “Yes, I’ll be going live… an eight-minute homage. I love dancing on stage. In India, there’s no specific culture for stage performances.
“Out West, there’s a huge market for live performances. Their films don’t have songs and dances. Their pop stars have a vibrant stage culture. So, stage performances are a huge market in the West.”
Looking forward to see Shahid transform in Michael Jackson.
Big B and Aishwarya win NDTV Awards
At the recent NDTV Indian of the Year awards night, Big B and his bahu Aishwarya Rai bagged the most coveted titles namely Indian of the Year and Icon of the Year award.
Big B who attended the event with wife Jaya and bahu Aishwarya Rai and recieved the Indian of the Year award, wrote on his blog, “NDTV Indian of the Year acknowledging 21 years of the existence of the channel and simultaneously acknowledging Indians that have been an inspiration for the country in these 21 years!!”
Aishwarya Rai who received the NDTV Indian Icon of the Year award and look very lovely in a orange saree.

SRK receives NDTV icon of the year award
SRK was awarded with Icon of the Year award at the recently held NDTV Indian of the Year awards, Aishwarya Rai also won the same award in Female category.
SRK was given away the award by Home minister P Chidambaram, who remarked, “I would love to watch SRK-starrer My Name is Khan…I am waiting for the English subtitles…It was great the way Khan brought out Mumbai’s solidarity…The attack on the movie (by Shiv Sena) was not an attack on the film, it was an attack on the idea of India.”
Karan Johar who is very active on social networking site Twitter, received the Social Networking Icon of the Year award.

Amrita Arora attended Shahid Kapoor’s birthday that was held at a pub in Bandra, Shahid celebrates his 29th birthday today. Amrita who has worked with Shahid in many flicks like Ishq Vishq, Vaah Life Ho Toh Aisi and Vivaah wished Shahid a very happy birthday. The pair looks cute together.

Shahid Kapoor threw a birthday party for family and friends at yesterday at a upscale pub in Bandra. Shahid’s birthday was attended by father Pankaj Kapoor, mother Neelima Azeem, step-mother Supriya Mathak, half-brother Ishaan and step-siblings.
Since the bar was open till midnight, beyond the eligibile deadline, police arrived and fined the manager Subhash Bhonsle Rs.5000.
