Aamir Khan’s first Holly flick opposite Kate Winslet
Aamir Khan is all set for his first Hollywood flick and he is supposed to be paired opposite Oscar winner Titanic actress Kate Winslet. The flick will be directed by Pan Nalin.
The movie is based on Pakistani play Toba Keh Singh, a story which shows the comical side of an Indian mental asylum in 1947, during partition of India.
If Kate Winslet rejects the role, then Pan will approach Mummy actress Rachel Weisz for the role of Dr Sophie.
Nalin says, “Either Kate or Rachel will be doing my film. I will be meeting both of them after my Cannes trip to finalise the casting. Either of them will be able to do justice to this marvelous story.â€
Pan has already impressed Aamir with his script which will show Aamir has a mentally retarded person in the asylum.
Whoa! that sounds exciting!
SRK to become Bond for Ra-1
Shahrukh Khan is all set to become Bollywood’s own James Bond in his upcoming flick called RA-1 which will be directed by Anubhav Sinha.
A source reveals, “RA-1 is a superhero flick with special effects, gizmos and gadgets just like in 007′s films.”
“SRK will be going a strict diet and wants to get into a killer shape before he begins shooting for RA-1.”
SRK was sleek and really good in Don. Wonder how he will fare as Bollywood’s Bond in RA-1.

Saif-Bebo’s next flick is Qurbaan
Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor had revealed to us some time ago that they are doing a flick called Jehaad with director Rensil D’Silva although the title of the movie was not officially declared, however Saif-Bebo will need to eat back their words ‘coz Rensil has officially named the movie Qurbaan.
A source says, “As soon as the title Qurbaan is made official, Karan and Rensil plan to call a press conference to correct the media perception that the film is called Jehaad. Since Kareena and Saif used Jehaad in all their interviews, it will take some time for Jehaad to get out of the public’s mind. They have made a gripping thriller on terrorism. The narration is taut and uninterrupted by Bollywood
formulae like songs, dances and melodrama. Kareena and Saif have even done one of the boldest love sequences ever. “
Rensil also confirmed the news, “We did consider it but it is unlikely that we will call the film Jehaad. Karan and I need to sit down and talk about it, but he has gone off to Cannes.â€
Karan Johar, producer of the movie was unavailble for a comment.
Why couldn’t Sonam go to Cannes?
L’Oreal some days back made an official announcement on May 11th that newbie Sonam Kapoor is the latest entrant in their L’Oreal dream team and would walk the red carpet at Cannes, read their statement here:
“Raising the toast to celebrate the association, Sonam Kapoor was welcomed as the youngest member to join the L’Oreal Paris dream team that includes awe-inspiring beauties such as Aishwarya Rai (Bachchan), Penelope Cruz, Naomi Lenoir, Andie MacDowell, Beyonce Knowles, Laetitia Casta, Kerry Washington, Milla Jovovich, Michelle Yeoh, Eva Longoria and Scarlett Johansson. 2009 will be a highlight year for the L’Oreal Paris brand in India as both its spokespersons – the iconic Aishwarya Rai and Sonam will represent Indian beauty and talent oversees at the Cannes Film Festival alongside other members of the dream team.â€
However on May 12th they released another statement that read, “We do not want to take part in or encourage any controversy involving our spokespeople. There were adverse reports in certain sections of media after some comments by Sonam Kapoor, which were presented out of context.
“Following this, in order to avoid further escalation, we have advised Sonam not to go to Cannes as was planned earlier, bearing in mind that there would be more interesting opportunities for future appearances in Europe for her.”
Sonam’s comments were simple that she was honored to walk with legends like Ash, Penelope and Eva. What went wrong in one day that Sonam was removed from the dream team list?
Could it be Ash? However Ash’s spokesperson denies Ash’s involvement in the whole issue, a source says, “She (Aishwarya) did not even know that Sonam was going to be at Cannes because she was there for just two days (May 13-14) where her days were packed with back-to-back interactions with the international media, fashion shoots for various European fashion magazines and other business meetings besides attending all the events at the festival.”

Kangana to lose her curls
Curly beauty Kangana Ranaut is all set to lose her curls, no she is not going bald instead she is planning to straighten her hair and have a fringe cut for Anees Bazmee’s upcoming flick No Problem.
A buddy of Kangana reveals, “Initially, Kangna was apprehensive and concerned whether her new look would suit her. However, once she made up her mind that she would experiment with it, there was no stopping her.â€
Kangana who has beautiful curls says, “I needed a chick hairstyle. I have a big forehead and the fringe will make my face look proportionate.â€
Kangana will not only be seen in a new hairdo she is all set to slip into the bikini for the movie. Lets wait and watch.
Legendary director Prakash Mehra passes away
Legendary actor Prakash Mehra who introduced Bollywood to angry young man Amitabh Bachchan in Zanjeer expired yesterday morning. His death gave a big blow to Amitabh Bachchan who recalls with nostalgia the memories of the man who made him a star.
Amitabh writes, “It was early 1971 when I met Prakashji for the first time at RajKamal Studios. He had come to ask me to work in his first home production film, Zanjeer. Salim-Javed that had written the script, had suggested my name to him. He had had a few successes as an individual director with the stars of the day — Dharamji.
He addressed me endearingly as ‘Lalla’ as did I him and each time he would be impressed by a shot that I gave, he would quietly walk up to me and kiss my forehead. He had an air of fun and comedy about him. Many a humorous moment in his films were on the spot instinctive introductions; though his own suppressed laughter, during the time of its enactment once the cameras were rolling, remained a perennial distraction for the artist and more particularly for the sound recordist! On many an occasion we had to plead with him to leave the set in order to be able to ‘can’ the shot without interruption.
He remained my neighbour throughout his film career; sympathetic and caring in moments of distress and exuberant in our moments of joy. He named his second son Amit after me and remained a proud father to his other two, Sumeet and Puneet. He bore the trauma of his ailing wife, lying in coma for years at his house, with great fortitude.
We have lost a great filmmaker and a wonderful human. Lalla, I shall miss you. May you remain in peace wherever you are.
May his soul rest in peace.

Aishwarya shatters Sonam’s Cannes dream
It would’ve have been dream come true for Sonam Kapoor for walking the red carpet amongst bevy of beauties like Aishwarya Rai, Eva Longoria and Penelope Cruz for L’Oreal at Cannes Film Festival 2009, however her dreams were shattered when Aishwarya refused to let Sonam walk the carpet for the brand she is endorsing.
A source says, “On May 10, while attending the brand’s event in Mumbai, Sonam had spoken about replacing Ash, an international face for a whole range of products for the company. At the same event, Sonam was welcomed as the youngest member to join the brand’s dream team. Then the company folk then added that Sonam would be walking the red carpet in Cannes.”
However a source close to Aishwarya says, “Aishwarya’s deal with the company is clear: she is the international face while Sonam would represent the Indian face. For a while Ash believed that Sonam was misled about the red carpet turn and that she had spoken out of youthful exuberance. But when she found out otherwise, the diva put her foot down. As a result, the there was furious activity to and fro and anxious moments at the company’s office in Mumbai all of Friday.Sonam has not been invited by the brand but is there with her father Anil Kapoor as a visitor.”
The source close to Sonam says, “At the Cannes festival press conference, Aishwarya called Sonam’s statements on the party day as juvenile and irresponsible.”
Sonam is shocked and hurt that Aishwarya is reacting to her in such a way when Sonam has gone out of her way to praise her at the party held on May 10. Sonam and Aishwarya are from two different generations and she has always looked up to Ash for her ability to handle the most difficult of situations with dignity and style.”
“Sonam can’t understand why Ash is so upset with her and is bitching her out everywhere. Sonam feels that Aishwarya is doing some great films in spite of being 35 years old and that Sonam is too small for someone’s of Aishwarya’s stature. It’s very childish of Aishwarya to react like this.”
Poor Sonam! It would have been great to see her at the red carpet too! 
Salman goes long,short and locked with his hair
Salman is leaving no stone unturned to make sure that his period movie Veer will become a hit, he apparently will be seen in three different hairstyles in the movie which have been styled by hair-stylist Aalim Hakim.
Aalim says, “Salman doesn’t go with current trends. He likes to go against what’s popular to create his own fashion statement. Salman’s a style icon and in Veer he’s worked hard on his look.”
“His first look sports classic short hair which was popular in the 1900s. In his second look, he will be seen in long hair, Gladiator style. His third style has him in a Shanghai pony tail which I think is remarkable.”
“Salman grew his hair for Veer. But wherever we wanted it longer, he has used extensions.”
And Salman’s every hairstyle has been given a distinct color, Gladiator look will show his hair in light chocolate brown color.
However once he stars shooting for Dus ka Dum he will chop his hair short.
Mr & Mrs Padmashri – Ash & Akki
During shooting Vipul Shah’s Action Replay, two days prior to recieving Padmashri, Akshay was in jovial mood saying that he and Aishwarya Rai are Mr and Mrs Padmashri.
He was saying, “Please meet ‘Mr and Mrs Padmashri’ meaning Aishwarya and me.’’
Apparently everybody is going ga-ga over Ash-Akki’s onscreen chemistry that is clearly visible in the photoshoot they did recently by the poolside.
