The Global recession has hit many people including our B-wood celebs which has forced our actors to slash their prices to suit the economic condition of the country, one lad seems to go in an opposite direction – Shahid Kapoor.
Shahid Kapoor who is seen in VIP ad and more recently for Pioneer MP3 (he looks hot in the ad – will upload it soon) has maintained his market price.
A source says, “Shahid has signed both his recent endorsement deals for Rs 10 crore! Even in this time of recession, Shahid has got his market price.”
Well with looks to kill like him, its good to be pricey!!! Hai na!!
Aamir Khan meets Danny Boyle
Perfectionist actor Aamir Khan was recently seen bonding well with Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle at the Indian premiere of the Oscar nominated flick.
Apparently Aamir Khan was the special guest for the night and director-actor duo were seen chatting endlessly for almost three hours.
With Danny Boyle being a toast of the town our B-wood celebs are longing to be a part of Danny’s next flick supposed to be based in India.
However with a perfectionist Khan by his side, I guess Danny has his priorities settled down.

Jai ho to go live at Oscars
A R Rahman is all set to perform his famous song Jai Ho during the Oscar night with singer Sukhwinder Singh.
The duo have been invited by the Academy Awards bosses to perform the Golden Globe winning song on the prestigious awards night on Feb 21 at Los Angeles.
A source reveals, “Rahman had called up Sukhwinder, telling him that the authorities of the Academy Awards had asked him to open the ceremony. Rahman asked Sukhwinder to prepare himself for another live performance. Nothing new in that, except, this time, it would be for the Oscars! Gulzar, who has written the song, is likely to make an appearance on the awards night too.”

Sonam loves dad’s performance in Slumdog
Well while daddy Kapoor doesn’t dry his mouth praising daughter Sonam Kapoor, the daughter is also leaving no stone unturned to praise her daddy who was recently seen in Oscar nominated flick Slumdog Millionaire.
Speaking about Anil’s performance, Sonam says, . “My dad’s performance was excellent and my dad is the best game show host.”
She also talks about losing the best debut award last year to Deepika Padukone, “Awards are important and it was important for me to win one for Saawariya. I was quite upset that I didn’t get the award,” she says.
However she doesn’t want the two of them to be compared, as both of them are sticking to a different kind of cinema, she says, “Deepika is mostly doing commercial roles while I’m not. I wouldn’t sign a film for an ornamental role or just to look pretty. Ek achhi film ban ne mein ek saal to lagta hi hai. That’s why I am being seen lesser than her.”

Mugdha Godse was named the best debutant of the year by the Lions Gold Award Jury and was also the top ranker in the online poll about Bollywood’s popular actress.
Ask the stunning actress about this and pat comes the reply, “What makes such awards special is the fact that they come from the people. After all, it’s the audience that sits through our films and decides how good you are. There are no lobbies, no campaigning; it’s something that comes straight from their hearts. I feel so honored to have been accepted like this after my very first film. Fate has been really kind to me. However, I realize that this recognition also puts extra responsibilities on my shoulders and every performance of mine will be thoroughly scrutinized from now on. But I am well prepared.”

Saif And Deepika In Imtiaz Ali’s Next Film
Imtiaz Ali after the super success of Jab We Met is coming back with another film. He decided to drop Kareena off his list this time and roped in Deepika Padukone opposite Kareena’s beau Saif Ali Khan.
Sources report, “The film was not christened so far and was called by different names. Some technicians called it ‘Production No.1′, because this is the first film to be produced by the ‘chote nawab’.
Insiders say that after a lot of thought the director, Imtiaz Ali and the producer, Saif Ali Khan sat together and decided the name as ‘Love Aaj Kal’.
Sure, sounds apt for a Saif Ali Khan film. But there are rumors doing the rounds that the director is still not very happy with the name.”Hmmm………
Rahman And Sukhwinder To Go Live At The Oscars
Rahman has bagged 3 Oscar nominations and the icing over the cake is that he gets to perform live for the audience at the Oscars. Thats a Great News!
“Rahman and Sukhwinder Singh will perform the song ‘Jai Ho’ at the “Oscar evening” on February 21st. Thought both artists are experts in performing live, this would still be a first-of-its-kind experience for them and make them ecstatic as well as nervous – because it is at Oscars!” reports a source.

Kareena Or Priyanka?
Shyam Benegal is coming back with another exciting film called Chamki. He had zeroed in Kareena first for the role.
Says a source, “Kareena was excited to begin with. She was supremely charged by the role and what Shyam Babu had done with her sister Karisma in Zubeida.
But then she opted out, as she often does from offbeat challenges like Deepa Mehta’s Water and Rituparno Ghosh’s Raincoat pleading it was too early for her to attempt something so unconventional.
Then came Priyanka Chopra who was quite kicked about the part. But she and the film’s then-producer Sanjay Gupta had a fall-out earlier when she had said no to his Musafir. The role then went to Urmila Matondkar who had monetary issues with the producer.”
Says the source, “Kareena continues to have reservations about non-mainstream cinema. She was recently offered another heroine-oriented film by Rituparno Ghosh. She declined.
Barring Pritish Nandy Communications Chameli she has never returned to non-mainstream cinema. But now Chamki, set in Rajasthan, is being re-designed as a big broad epic musical with super choreography and lavish songs by Javed Akhtar and A R Rahman. No expense will be spared to make Chamki a big blockbuster.”
Now the producers are thinking afresh for someone else for the role. It requires a dancer trained in the Rajasthani folk dance style.
