Abhishek to lose his flab
Abhishek has never been on the lean side, always sporting some tummy and double chin, but Mani Ratnam wants Abhishek to fit his role to the core by getting on the fitter side.
So Abhishek is losing weight for Raavan, and is on a strict diet which is constantly monitored by his trainer Sameer Jora, who accompanies him everywhere.
A source says, ‘Abhishek is on a no-carb diet. And he’s made sure that if he won’t have carbs then other people in the unit won’t either. So he doesn’t let anyone have any sweets. But, he did eat a ladoo on the sly once.”
Well Abhi will look hot when he loses some flab. What do you think folks?

Karan wants White House for My Name is Khan
Karan Johar is shooting back to back for his next venture My Name is Khan which is being filmed currently in LA. Now Karan wants to take MNIK to Washington as he wants to shoot it in White House.
A source says, “Karan wants to shoot a sequence at the White House. The film is set against the aftermath of 9/11 in America and keeping the storyline in mind, Karan thinks filming at the prestigious White House will be a coup of sorts for him.”
However, White House is out of bounds for everyone and no body is allowed to film movies inside it.
The source says, “From what the officials have said no one has really been allowed to film inside the White House. Sure we can set up the crew and film it from the street like how most tourists do but what Karan wants is to be inside the main gates. Getting that isn’t going to be so easy.”
My Name is Khan is about a Muslim Rizwan Khan being enacted by SRK who suffers from autism and is detained by US authorities as they mistake his autism as suspicious behavior.

Hrithik Roshan Injured, In Hospital!
Hritik Roshan met an accident on the sets of his forthcoming film Kites. He has cuts on his writsts normally associated with attempted suicide cases. Thats why he avoided going to the a big celebrity hospital in Bandra and got admitted in Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.
The Roshans wanted to avoid unncessary paperwork so they called up Tina Ambani and requested her to admit Hrithik.
A source close to Hrithik’s family says, “Duggu (Hrithik’s pet name) was the first patient at the Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. He hurt himself on the sets of Anurag Basu’s Kites at Filmistan Studios on Wednesday night. He was shooting for an action scene in which he had to smash a windowpane with a rod and enter the room. The shot didn’t work well two times; the third time Hrithik hit the glass so hard that glass shards flew everywhere. One sliced through his wrist and blood gushed everywhere. The cut was so deep that Hrithik could see his bone.”
Though Papa Roshan wasn’t present on the sets executive producer and Hrithik’s sister Sunaina was. She took charge. “Initially, Sunaina didn’t realise how serious Hrithik’s wound was but when he cried out to her asking for help and to stop the blood gushing out, she realised he needed to be taken to a hospital for stitches. The source adds that Sunaina decided to take him to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra but they were advised that it might become a police case. She spoke to her dad, who in turn called Tina Ambani in Delhi who made the necessary arrangements for Hrithik’s admission.”
Rakesh Roshan confirms, “The deep cut required 12 stitches. He won’t be shooting for the next three days till the doctor sees his wound.”
Rakesh Roshan “We took Hrithik to the Ambani Hospital as it was close to Filmistan Studios in Goregaon. I wanted him to reach the hospital as soon as possible. I spoke to Tina. She spoke to the doctors and made all the required arrangements. Fortunately, they had opened the hospital just a day before and Hrithik was their first patient. It’s a fantastic hospital like a 7-star hotel very well thought out with 700 beds. The doctors are very efficient.”
With regard to the police case he says, “The police came for a routine enquiry and I showed them Hrithik’s report it was an accident on the sets. They were fine with that.”
Hrithik is too much of a happy man to committ any thing unlawful. So policemen… Just Chill.
Abhi has a New Name for his Wife Ash!
Aishwarya Rai just bought home the fifth Padmashri of the Bachchan family and elated hubby Abhishek has a new name for his wife each time she wins a prestigious title or award.
A source reports,”When she stood ninth among the most beautiful woman in the world, Abhi used to call her ‘Number Nine’ and now again she was given a new nickname. After honoring with Padmashri, Abhi starts calling her ‘Padma Shrimati’ and Ash as usual delighted to be called with this new name.
When the civilian honors were announced, Abhishek was shooting in Orcha near Jhansi and Aishwarya was in Chennai, shooting for Endhiran. And when the news reached Abhi’s ear, he immediately sent a bouquet to ash addressing as ‘Padma Shrimati’.”
When Ash reached the Mumbai airport with her award, she was greeted with flowers sent by none other than her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan. She spoke to the media at the airport,
“This one was from Pa,” revealed the pleased actress, “He wrote that this was the fifth Padma Shri in the family. Dadaji (Harivansh Rai Bachchan) got it first, Pa got it twice, then Ma (Jaya Bachchan) and now me … the award is very special for our family.”

Shahrukh And Kajol Together After 8 Long Years
I really missed the Shahrukh-Kajol jodi on screen all this while. They really make a hot couple on screen. Thanks to Karan Johar they are coming back on screen with My Name Is Khan as the film’s lead couple.
The couple returned to Mumbai just yesterday after finishing the first schedule of the film. Kajol really gave a hard time to Karan Johar while she agreed to do the film.
“During the recently concluded schedule of the film in LA, Kajol was accompanied by her mother, sister and daughter Nysa. In fact, the reason why Kajol dilly-dallied so much to do this film is because she did not want to be separated from her daughter,” reported a source.
My Name is Khan is a story of a man who suffers from milder form of autism. Kajol plays his wife.
Shahrukh Khan defends Slumdog Millionaire!
Shahrukh Khan who walked the red carpet at the Golden Globes appreciated and hailed the worldwide success of ‘Slumdog Millioniare’ as an incentive to all Indian filmmakers.
While he praised Danny Boyle’s film, Shah Rukh also said “I love awards and I hope to feature in a film comprising Indian cast and crew some day which will go to win these awards”.

Billu Barber to release on Feb 13th
Red Chillies Entertainment’s Billu Barber, starring Shahrukh Khan, Irrfan Khan and Lara Dutta is scheduled for a worldwide release on February 13th by Eros International, the leading London-listed Indian media and Entertainment Company.

Jagjit Singh Challenges Rahman to Compose Ghazals
While AR Rahman’s fans are happy and proud after he got a Golden globe and Oscar nominations for his Slumdog Millionaire soundrack. But back home in India people are still critical. Director Mahesh Bhatt thinks Slumdog Millionaire is clearly not Rahman’s best work.
Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh criticized Rahman saying,”
“It is a fact, just that nobody is saying it, but everybody knows…Rahman josh mein aa kar ghazal banayee (If he has it in him, he should compose ghazals),” Jagjit Singh said on asked about Rahman’s music in ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.
The ghazal maestro has accused Rahman of replicating western tunes; and he is also not impressed with Gulzar’s poetry.
“What to say if Gulzar writes such songs. He can say ‘no’ if he wants. He is a man from great literary background,” an angred Singh said.
However, his fellow ghazal singer – Pankaj Udhas does not agree. “Rahman is a very talented artist; and yes, he can compose very good ghazals too,” Udhas said.
Bollywood is, however, divided on Jagjit Singh’s response to Slumdog’s music.
Popular singer Alka Yagnik feels Bollywood music is situtional. “Music connected to films is situational, Music directors are asked to compose songs accoding to the script of the film.”
While Yagnik feels Bollywood music is made accoding to the script, singer-composer Sonu Nigam completely agrees with Jagjit Singh. “Bollywood music is not real music, so that way I agree with Jagjitji, but Rahman is very talanted,” he said.
Well Im sure Rahman is up for that challenge too. He is a talented musician and he can go further than this.
Its Raining Padmashris In Bollywood!
India just celebrated its 60th Republic Day on Monday. This time Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Akshay Kumar were awarded the Padmashri by the Govt. of India.
Aishwarya Rai was obviously elated and she said, “I hope to be able to live up to the promise of it. I am very grateful and will continue doing my best.” (Image courtesy: Reuters)

Among the others there is Helen, the famous cabaret dancer of yesteryears. Singers Udit Narayan and Kumar Sanu received Padmashri.
Amitabh Bachchan also received Padmashri, twice that is in his career of four decades. Aamir Khan recieved a Padmashri in 2003 and Shahrukh Khan received it in 2005. Amongst actresses Madhuri Dixit received a Padmashri in 2008.
Other seasoned actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher, and AK Hangal were among the other awardees in the years that went by.
We hope it still rains Padmashris on Bollywood for the coming years. I really hope actors like Kajol and Shabana Azmi get a Padmashri next year.
