Salman Khan to retire from Bollywood?
Rumors are doing rounds that Salman Khan is planning to put an end to his acting career, and plans to settle down with his ladylove far away from noisy and blaring Mumbai.
Sallu Miya has already scheduled his wedding for 2010 and is currently hunting for a home in Dubai.
A source says, “Last month, Salman Khan launched the Hydra Twin Towers project at Jumeirah Village. The actor came away highly impressed with the facilities offered at the project, which is in the heart of Dubai. It is expected to be complete by early 2010. He found the property interesting as it has spacious car parks, shops, spas, gyms, and luxury cafes and restaurants — all designed for luxurious living, in tranquility and comfort.”
But I wonder if Katrina will be ready to give up her Bollywood career, especially after 9 back-to-back hits.

Irrfan Khan misses Shahrukh Khan
There are some people in industry who wouldn’t want to even see the face of SRK but there is still someone who loves SRK and misses him. It’s none other than great actor Irrfan Khan.
Irrfan Khan is working with SRK in upcoming flick Billo Barber and developed a strong bond with him.
He says, “Shah Rukh is as entertaining off camera as he’s on screen. We all bonded big time while shooting in Pollachi. After he left a spark had gone out of the unit. Seldom have I missed a co-star. Shah Rukh, I’m missing you.”

Bipasha and Deepika kiss and make-up
Leading ladies of Bachna Ae Haseeno, Bipasha Basu and Deepika Padukone who were having a cold war have apparently cleared all the bad rumors and gossip about them in a recently held press conference (apparently on Ranbir’s suggestion).
The two were so eager to prove the rumors wrong that they ended up kissing and hugging each other.
Apparently the ladies first hugged each other, which caused mayhem amongst the paparazzi, and then they kissed and then Deepika exclaimed, “Now that we’ve kissed we hope the press stops making us look like enemies.”
Well that’s what we call kiss and make-up for the shutterbugs.

Salman Khan suffers from food poisoning
Its the season for celebrity illness, first Adnan Sami got ill, then Shahid Kapoor took to bed and now our generous Sallu Khan has been diagnosed with food poisoning.
The shooting of his upcoming flick Veer was cancelled at the last moment when the actor suddenly started puking.
A source says, “That’s very unlike Salman. He was all set to begin his workout when he complained of stomachache. He was immediately rushed to a doctor who confirmed that it was food poisoning.”
However the daring Khan did not want to cause any trouble to his director and was adamant to complete the shoot inspite of his illness, “But his health just didn’t allow him enough strength. His brother Sohail took a call and decided to cancel the shooting,” adds the source.
Well we wish Salman Khan a speedy recovery.
Priyanka Chopra fine with flops
Priyanka Chopra is a talented actress but her last two movies Love Story 2050 and God Tussi Great Ho failed to generate applaud for her. But the action actress is not disappointed by the way her movies have bombed at the Box Office.
She explains, “I hardly had much to do in God Tussi Great Ho. But then that’s fine. It’s not easy to be commercially successful. We can’t wait for that one ‘deglamourised’ role, which will let us do our best. If I get an opportunity to be part of a successful film, I consider myself lucky. Love Story 2050 is a film that will be always remembered for its special effects. We spent three years on it and I think our efforts have not gone waste.”
The pretty lass is also takes criticism seriously, “The film industry is full of trial and errors. I am not even trained formally as an actor. So, I consider myself to be lucky to be here and give every film my honest effort.”
Well we hope to see a better Priyanka Chopra in future. (Hope she doesn’t do any more Ponds fairness ads)
Himesh refuses to kiss onscreen
Rumors are rife that Himesh Reshammaiya, musician-cum-singer-cum-actor has done a hot kissing scene for his upcoming movie, but the nasal singer has denied the allegations.
Apparently Himesh filmed a sex-scene with actress from Pakistan- Mona Laizza for Pooja Bhatt’s Kajraa Re.
But Himesh Reshamiyaa is quick to deny this, adding, “I haven’t kissed in Kajraa Re. In fact, Pooja hasn’t asked me to do any kissing scene in the film. I’d not be comfortable kissing on screen.”
Himesh had a no sex or kiss clause in his contract for Kajraa Re directed by Pooja Bhatt whose films are synonyms for kissing and sex.

Mumbai Meri Jaan Movie Review
Today, I watched two movies back to back and man it can be so tiring. The first movie I watched was Mumbai Meri Jaan and I was very happy with what I saw. If I had to give a one line review of this film I would say, “Its a good effort; I recommend you check it out.” But there is more I would like to talk about.
Mumbai Meri Jaan is the story of six characters and the impact that the train blasts of 2006 had on their lives. The characterization is very interesting.
A young professional Nikhil (R Madhavan) who is a conscious citizen who believes in doing his bit by asking people not to use plastic bags and who does not buy a car because he doesn’t want to add to the city’s mad traffic. He realizes that boarding the city’s jampacked trains give him anxiety attacks.
A TV Journalist (Soha Ali Khan) whose fiance gets killed in the blasts gets a hard time by her colleagues who publicize her grief with a show called Kyun Rupali Bani Rudali.
There are two constables (Paresh Rawal) who try hard to uphold some goodness in a system that flushes their efforts down the gutter.
An educated but unemployed man (KK Menon) who vents his frustration out by bullying an old muslim man and coming up with communal conspiracy ideas.
Tea-seller (Irfan Khan) who plays around with hoax bomb threats to malls after being thrown out from one of the malls.
They are connected by the same tragedy. The movie follows the footsteps of Naseeruddin Shah’s Yun Hota Toh Kya Hota by depicting how the act of terrorism changed the lives of common indiviudals. The camera work is amazing and gives you a documentarish feeling, I guess it was important to bring out the real Mumbai. .
Handling six different stories requires a lot of skill and you could see director Nishikant Kamath loosing control here and there. Also at times the movie seems dragging and dense at times.
The script was not strong enough to bear the weight of such a sensitive subject, however performances by good actors like Paresh Rawal (must agree he is excellent), Irfaan Khan, KK Menon and Madhavan cover up the flaws of the movie making it watchable.
Therefore – A good effort by the director and the actors, its a fairly good film.

The Last Lear Ready To Hit The Screens
Rituparno Ghosh’s latest film The Last Lear which is regarded as Amitabh Bachchan’s most awaited movie is ready for release and the date has been finalized as September 12.
Apart from Amitabh Bachchan who will be seen in a unique get up, the film stars Priety Zinta, Arjun Rampal, Shefali Shah and Divya Dutta.
We will see Amitabh Bachchan play an actor for the first time ever in his four decade long career. And Priety Zinta also has an interesting look in the film.
The film has been already screened at world’s four big film festivals including that of London, Toronto, Rome and Rotterdam. The response was overwhelming with long standing ovations that people gave after the screenings. And right from the International critics to the Indian critics every one unanimously says that this is Amitabh Bachchan’s best film ever.
Lets see if the masses agree with the classes on that one.
Shilpa Shetty Upset Over Rakhi Sawant’s Allegations
Big Boss is running high on TRPs, the reason for that apart from svelte Shilpa Shetty hosting the show and Jade Goody’s traumatic departure is Rakhi Sawant’s masaledaar allegations.
According to Rakhi Sawant, Jade Goody left the show because of Shilpa’s manoeuvres. Shilpa, apparently, is really upset over this and she said,
“I don’t even want to talk about her. But I was very hurt. I really like Rakhi. Why was she talking this way about me without knowing the facts? How does she know the facts about how contestants were chosen?
“I don’t think it’s right for anyone to shoot off her mouth in this way. You may have an outspoken image that you’re always eager to uphold. But please don’t flaunt that image at my cost.”
“Rakhi takes the cake. What authority does she have to make such charges against me? I’d have Rakhi know that it’s the channel’s prerogative to decide the participants. I’m hired by the channel to do a job. My jurisdiction is to go on stage and host the show.”
Whoa! Sounds like its war between both the ladies!
Movies Releasing Tomorrow
The big day of the week comes and there are five films waiting to prove their worth at the box office. This weekend we have a wider choice.
I’m looking forward to Ram Gopal Varma’s much hyped movie Phoonk and the response people give it. Mumbai Meri Jaan also tops my priorities along with Maharathi. The star cast of these two movies is amazing and we can expect something good out of these movies if not great.
Maan Gaye Mughal-e-Azam is the kind iof movie I can watch if I dont get the tickets for the two above and C Kompany, well, I dont have a choice. Have to tolerate Tushar Kapoor and my intuition tells me its going to be yet another mindless comedy starring Tushar. I hope I be wrong this time.
Kidnap Preview
Talking about Imraan Khan, I happened to take a sneak peek into his forthcoming film Kidnap and he looks hot! The movie is directed by none other than Sanjay Gadhvi, the man who made Dhoom and Dhoom 2. So you know what to expect from Kidnap.
Imraan Khan plays Kabir, a baddie who kidnaps Sonia (Minnisha Lamba) who happens to be Sanjay Dutt aka Vikrant Raina’s daughter in the movie. Vikrant Raina is a super cool and super rich industrialist and the movie is his trial of his love for his daughter and how far he can go to save her from the clutches of Kabir.
Super star cast, Super director, and with Pritam giving music, we cannot but desperately look forward to this movie. We hear its going to be a big festive release on Eid.
