John Abraham opposite Rachel Weisz

Do you remember John waiting for a co-star for Deepa Mehta’s ‘Luna? (Check yesterday’s post guys!) Well the lady opposite John is finalized. She is the Constant Gardner…I mean the lead lady in Constant Gardner, The Mummy and Constantine. Yes, Rachel Weisz is going to play the protagonist in Luna. Hear more on it from Deepa, “John, who plays an environmentalist in Luna, is not an Indian, nor an American in the film. His culture origins aren’t specified. Unlike in Water, in this film, he won’t be a man in a dhoti playing the basuri. This makes him Bollywood’s first actor to crack the West without playing an NRI or some exotic creature. And guess who gave approval for John, “The true-life inspiration for the film, Julia Hill, just loved John. Her approval was very important. She thought he looked like Antonio Banderas!” He has a full-fledged role opposite Rachel.” Script for the movie will be written by two time Oscar winner David Ward.

Presently John is finishing Anurag Kashyap’s “No Smoking”. And why such off-beat movies: “At a time when the world is doing big-budget actions why are you doing Kabul Express and No Smoking? Have you lost it?’ But that’s me. More than driving a car, I love riding a bike, I love the thought of sitting on the edge. I’m very secure about my career choices.” Believe me, we love you in whatever movie you come!
