Ajay Devgan to play King Ashoka

Raj Kumar Santoshi’s “Halla Bol” is almost done and the man is busy finalizing the name for his next film which stars Ajay Devgan. And as usual Ajay again gets a unique role to play- the character of King Asoka. After King Khan’s version of Asoka, Ajay will flesh the character of the Great King Ashoka. The film is expected to roll in August this year and completed in one schedule by December 2007. A huge budget has been planned to cover the story and life of the king. Ajay is all very excited about the project and says that it has the best script he has heard in all these years. Ashoka came to Santoshi’s mind when he was researching for his planned film Ramayana, which will release next year. Hopefully this attempt to picturize The Maurya King Ashoka will be better than what Santosh Sivan.
