Anurag Basu’s Metro hits the silver screen, eyes on Shilpa Shetty
Anurag Basu is all set to see his next film “Metro’s” box office response. With great actors like Kay Kay Menon, Konkona Sen Sharma , Irrfan khan, Sharman Joshi and Shilpa Shetty, the film is based on the life and times of today’s Mumbaikars caught in the mad rat race of life. Anurag considers Shila’s recent success in Big Brother an advantage to his otherwise strong cast.
“Lots of my friends and associates can relate to the characters and incidents in Metro. Now that Shilpa is here, we have had to increase the number of prints for overseas,” says the director. So let us wait and watch how the film does on the box office.

The legendary and most respected cabaret dancer in Bollywood, Helen was honored by the ninth Tongues of Fire Film Festival that organized the ‘Golden Girl’ dance competition on her name. “It really touches me within and I didn’t know until I got here that this whole program is based on all my songs, this whole program and evening is honouring me. I mean I get choked when I think of it, I thank my lord for this wonderful evening,” says Helen. Helen appreciates Kareena Kapoor for having done her dance numbers but her favorite is her daughter-in-law, Malaika Arora Khan.
”My daughter Malaika Khan has the exuberant personality once the camera is on and she really oozes oomph and enjoys her work and dancing.” Well, I think both are exuberant dancers. Hail to Helen!

This film is being directed by a noted Bengali Filmmaker Joyobroto Chatterjee whose The Last Train of Innocence won him the Hawthronden fellowship. So the in-laws join their daughter-in-laws platoon soon. I wonder why Abhishek is left behind!
