Star Screen Awards grabs headlines
posted in Uncategorized |The 13th Annual Hero Honda Star Screen Awards turned out
to be a huge success with tough competition between the best of 2006. It was almost impossible for the audiences to guess who would win for which category. It would have been a tough game for the jusry too to judge between films like Rang De Basanti and Lage Raho Munnabhai. And may be that’s why while the best director award went to Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra for RDB and the best film went to Lage Raho Munnabhai…never happened so before!
RDB bagged 8 awards and Lage Raho bagged 4 including the above mentioned ones. Hrithik bagged the best actor award for Krrish (the movie was also the best action film of the year). Kareena grabbed the best actress award for Omkara. Sanjay Dutt and Ayesha Takia won the critics awards. Saif Ali Khan bagged the best actor in negative role award for playing Langda Tyagi in Omkara and Shreyas Talpade the best comic actor award for Dor. Arshad Warsi and Kiron Kher won the supporting actor categories. 2006 saw some of the best movies of Bollywood and 2007 is counting on films like Guru, Eklavya, Salaam-e-Ishq, ‘Provoked’ to continue the standards.
