Sushmita Sen splits – with her house keeping staff!!!

sushmita sen house-keeping.jpgWonder when will people learn that servants are servants… they can’t possibly be treated like family members… oki I do agree to all the shit that my mom keeps telling me that they’re also human beings, they have their own feelings n blah blah… but however kind you are with them, they do need to be shown their place time and again!!!

Take Sushmita Sen for example… the poor babe had been too busy with her hectic shooting schedules I believe and her house-keeping staff was conveniently taking the advantage of that… they used to get unknown people to her house and do all sorts of stuff… and the moment she came to know of this, she fired almost her entire army of servants…

It actually was an army you know… EIGHT of them! I just wonder for what all had the ex-Miss Universe kept so many servants?!?!? It’s after all just she and her lil adopted daughter – Renee!

Rani might replace Bipasha Basu in Dhoom III

Well Apart from Ash and Uday everyone else is being replacedrani.jpg in Dhoom III! Aditya Chopra will replace Director Sanjay, Saif Ali Khan will replace Abhishek, Hrithik by the King Khan and the latest is that Rani Mukherjee will replace Bipasha Basu. Person in question who took this decision, Aditya Chopra of course! So there will be no more Shonali, the cop or Monali, the dreamer and to be truthful there will be no oomph in the movie then! Ash, though she looks fit, has to try hard to sizzle the screen whereas Bips could do it so easily. And Rani I don’t think will look sexier than Bips in a bikini! So altogether no scope for boys to check out Dhoom III but but but …Girls can of course wait for the Khans to do the magic.

Bigg Boss dumps Deepak Tijori

Deepak Tijori saw the door towards the outside world yesterday in Bigg Boss and was pretty surprised to see himself thrown out by the public but was also happy to see his children at the studio ready to greet him. The actor-turned-director now plans to make a film based on his experiences on the show. “It is an awesome concept and I have first-hand knowledge of what happens when different people are thrown together in one house. The only change I would make is to make the film a thriller!” Aryan Vaid’s already had been promised a role; wonder why Rakhi is not yet offered one. But would a thriller include a change of belief system in Rakhi that actually happened during the show. The most sought after ‘pardesia’ girl was more than impressed by Carol’s passages from the bible. Rakhi’s mother and brother, already believers in Christianity see it as a positive sign. Even though she has no plans to convert from being a Hindu into a full-fledged Christian, Rakhi’s mother is happy that her daughter is now practising the religion too. “She is also a disciple of Lord Ganesha. I think her mind is more at peace when she is religious. When she came back home after being eliminated from Bigg Boss, she would sit at home, read the Bible and take the Lord’s name and feel serene.”

rakhi.jpg

Rakhi’s boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi says, “There is nothing startling about Rakhi’s sudden interest in the religion as she has always been going to church and praying to Jesus Christ. However, she also believes in Lord Ganesha and celebrates Ganesh Chaturthi at her home every year. I think she follows both religions with equal fervour.” Looking at the evolution of Rakhi’s character in the house, I guess Deepak will have to make an entirely separate movie on Rakhi in the house!

First Look at Ram Gopal Varma’s Sholay

RGV’s Sholay is different and is reinvented in all its aspects- characterization, situations, songs and even the story line a bit. As the movie moves in a frantic pace towards completion, we give you a sneak-peek look at the movie.

Director’s Quote on his latest remake retold:
“My Sholay is a remix of many westerns and a completely different interpretation of the earlier Sholay. The uniqueness of Sholay’s story is that it’s not a genre film. It’s the story of a man who wants to take revenge. It was supposed to be a dark, violent film where you hate the villain but instead made you love Gabbar Singh. When I first told Amitabh Bachchan that I was remaking Sholay he laughed. He thought I was joking. It took me 10 minutes to convince him I was serious. I narrated the scenes to him and the way I was planning to shoot, adapt and redesign the characters for contemporary times. Ajay and I go back a long way so he has a certain trust in me as a director. I remember when I had narrated the Sholay script to him during the making of Bhoot Ajay was super excited about it. He was the first guy I spoke to about adapting Sholay. My intention of remaking Sholay is not to make a better one but to adapt it. I want to change her clothes and see her in another dress.”

65

The story unfolds:
Virendra Chavade (Ajay Devgan) and Jai Ranade (Raj) have grown up in Latur together admiring success and strength. They come to Mumbai and start working for Shambhul Seth who is being chased by police inspector Ranbeer (Mohan Lal). When Ranbeer comes into contact with Jai and Veeru he realises their values are still intact, exposes them to Shambhul’s past and makes them help him getting revenge on Gabbar Singh (Amitabh Bachchan). Gabbar, has destroyed the inspector’s family and left behind a grieving widow, Devi (Sushmita Sen), who was married to Ranbeer’s brother. Ghungroo (Nisha Kothari), is Mumbai’s only woman auto-rickshaw driver, who lives close to Ranbeer’s home. She is Devi’s best friend.
All this but the twist remains untold. Let’s wait with some patience to know the ultimate Ramu’s version of Sholay.

Mani Ratnam’s Guru and more

Know more on the biggest and much awaited opening film of 2007! Learn bits from Guru…

67 Capturing the moment

Cinematographer Rajiv Menon says, “I think this is the first time Mani has shot a film abroad. This is a great film on many counts. For Abhishek, it’s probably a landmark film. I think he has done his job well. Abhishek has a childlike enthusiasm and goofiness on the sets, but when it comes to giving a shot he is an instinctive and attentive actor. We have captured that joie de vivre of Guru bhai really well, yet making him vulnerable at certain points. The grey side to Guru — his hunger to achieve success, the guilt that he carries — these things have come out very well.” For Abhishek, this is going to be his greatest performance till date.

The mark of a pro

During a shoot in Kerala’s waterfalls, Mani Ratnam was in a dilemma because he had shot in the same location earlier. It was a challenge for him to shoot that place in such a fashion that it looked novel to the audience. He did so and was happy with the result.
Golden period
Mani Ratnam has a thing for shooting in what he calls the magic hour, the early morning light. All the stars had to wake up by 4 am to make it for the 6 am ‘magic hour’ shoot.

Lateral thinking

On his magical pairing with A R Rahman, Mani Ratnam says, “Rahman and I work well together because I think both of us are willing to experiment, both of us not scared to fall down. In Guru, we have tried to do something different from what we have done before. Rahman is willing to think laterally, it does not have to be in the same grain as the film. It can go, it can be a counter-point and he is very good at that. We both know we can take drastic steps and may get something different. The fact that you want something different is what makes you get something different.”

Guruspeak

Says Abhishek Bachchan, “As an actor, one can’t find a more interesting and exciting script than this. It’s almost like a biopic. Initially, I was scared because it was going to be challenging. When Mani sir comes to you, he means business. He will not give you an easy film. And once you are on the sets, he will really make your role tougher by the demands he has in terms of performance.”

Set theory

Guru is about India in the 1960s and 1970s, with a special thrust on Bombay of those times and its mill culture. Set Designer Samir Chanda recreated the mill compounds of Bombay in Chennai and that’s where Abhishek Bachchan has shot the mill and labour union scenes.

Dhoom III on cards

Dhoom III is on cards but this time its not Sanjay who willAditya.jpg direct this movie but Aditya Chopra. Yes the ace director will be back on the hot seat after six years. His last film was Mohabbatein. And guess what who is in- The King Khan Shahrukh will play the negative role in Dhoom III- and that, I think will be a hit role as for SRK’s immense affinity for being a hero in a negative role. But I wonder what Saif is going to do in the movie- will he be a threat to Abhishek? But believe me it will be a tragedy to break Abhishek and Uday’s chemistry. Amir is no more on the cards and Ash as predicted will be there in the third film too.

Shahrukh Khan rehearsing for KBC

He is tough and he is determined! Shahrukh is surely going to prove that he is different and original for the KBC 3. For this he has even set up a KBC studio at his residence so that he could rigorously rehearse the show and be as comfortable as possible for the show.srk-in-kbc-1.jpg Star India’s COO Sameer Nair says, “He was in Australia when we asked him if he would prefer a mock set at a studio near his house. But he said it would be better if we could arrange it at his house itself. All we needed was a 25×25 room. We have given him the chairs; the computerji, the graphic system, the sound system and even mock participants are sent so that he plays with them. Everything is there except the lights. It’s a bit cramped when compared to the actual set-up, but it’s good.” And guess who are the participants- every friend of the king khan and his guests at home are the hot seat takers at home. That’s not enough, in order to be the best he has postponed his shooting schedules for his home production Om Shanti Om, to be directed by Farah Khan.
