) and this was the occasion to honor those with the best fashion sense in the country.
It had the Glitz and the Glamour and all the essential ingredients to make one of the most successful award ceremonies in recent history … It was the Manhattan’s legendary Roseland Ballroom where all the celebrity royalty from the Indian film Industry was present to pay their respect to the ever so popular South Asian film community. The best of designers were not only awarded, but also given a chance to globally present their creation to the best possible audience …
Emraan will no longer be a ‘Serial Kisser’ …
Emraan Hashmi, known more for his on-screen kisses and fabulous songs, has vowed not to kiss any heroine after his marriage, with his long time girlfriend. Hashmi announced this in New Delhi during the promotion of his latest movie ‘The Killer’. Incidentally, Hashmi has told that his heroine in ‘The Killer’, Nisha Kothari though of a relatively bolder image, was virtually afraid of his kissing spree and was therefore always on the defensive until the director narrated to her the story that there was no kissing scene with her.
Apparently Emraan is planning to tie the knot in December this year. This may come as a huge shock to his female fans who are quite impressed by his sexy image.
Emraan’s forthcoming films include Subhash Ghai’s ‘Good Boy Bad Boy’, ‘Apnapan’ from the Bhatt camp and Shyam Bajaj’s ‘Train’. Apart from these, he will also be seen in Aditya Dutt’s ‘Dil Diya Hai’ and in a challenging role in Babloo Pachisia’s ‘Jhamela’ .
Katrina would love to work with the Chopras
The lovely Katrina Kaif says she would love to work with Raj Kumar Santoshi, Vipul Shah and Aditya Chopra, who made the evergreen hit ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’.
‘I’d love to work in young and fresh films like the ones Adi Chopra makes. He’s a very urbane filmmaker. My kind of director.’ she said.
Katrina Kaif, who is more famous as Salman Khan’s girlfriend, refuses to answer queries about her personal life and says she can’t allow outsiders to pass judgment on her personal life .
Katrina entered Bollywood with ‘Boom’ but it was the Salman Khan starrer ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’ which gave the much needed boost to her career in Hindi films. She has also done a film ‘Humko Deewana Kar Gaye with Akshay Kumar, that was a dud, but Katrina’s acting talent got noticed.
‘I think ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’ would be considered my first real step into Bollywood. I did it with my eyes open,’ said Katrina.
When asked whether she considered being called beautiful all the time, as a burden , she said “Beauty is a matter of perception. Honestly and truly, it is an individual opinion. I may be beautiful to some, not to others. I feel beautiful when I am beautiful for somebody”.
Sonali Bids Adieu to films …
The gorgeous Sonali Bendre who began her career as a model and went on to do several movies later, has decided to say alvida to bollywood. Her first movie was the Govinda starrer ‘Aag’ and then she acted in some memorable movies like ‘Diljale’, ‘Sarfarosh’, ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’, ‘Duplicate’ etc. Her role in Amol Palekar’s ‘Anahat’ got her rave reviews.
But she got married to Goldie Behl (of ‘Bas Itna Sa Khwaab Hai’ fame) and was not seen in too many movies or appearances thereafter.
Now her son Ranveer has grown one year old and needs her full attention. So, Sonali has decided to quit Bollywood. She says that she wants to give full attention to her son and keeps him away from the glamour world.
We will miss u Sonali ….
Kareena and Bipasha become friends…
Its always said that there are no permanent friends or enemies in the film industry. Here is an example of this. Apparently, Kareena Kapoor and Bipasha Basu have decided to bury the hatchet and have become friends. So now their four-year-old war is history.
It may be recalled that around four years ago, while shooting for Ajnabee, Kareena and Bipasha had a terrible fight and were not on talking terms since then.
But the two have recently apperaed together in Vishal Bharadwaj’s latest film ‘Omkara’. After doing ‘Omkara’, when Kareena was quizzed about Bips , she said “Bipasha is riding high. I’m very very happy to see where she is today” .
Bipasha too is glad to forget the past. “I think it’s very sweet of Kareena to say such wonderful things about me. I’m touched. From my side, I’ve always said there’s never been a problem as such. What happened during Ajnabee was so long ago, we were both babies. I guess we all mature with time,” says Bipasha.
So is dinner on the cards? ” Why not ? ” says Bips. “We have so much to catch up on” .
Urmila forgets something ‘BAS EK PAL’ ke liye
We have always heard stories about actors succumbing to stress, owing to tight work schedules. Stress can take its toll on anybody and this time the victim was none other than Urmila Matondkar.
According to reports , Urmila was supposed to address the electronic media at a press conference and speak about her forthcoming movie. But Urmi baby had a sudden lapse of memory and she forgot the name of her character in the film, owing to hectic work schedules and traveling, with no time for food also.
Urmila’s forthcoming movie ‘Bas Ek Pal’ is almost complete and will be released in the last week of August. Maybe, that’s why she was even more tensed.
But we think Urmi should take a chill pill and relax. What do u say ???
Is Dia in Love Again ???
The hottest gossip in tinsel town is that Dia Mirza and director Sanjay Gupta ( of ‘Kaante’ , ‘Plan’ and ‘Musafir’ fame) are seeing each other. It may be recalled that Sanjay was going around with Sameera Reddy sometime back.
According to rumours, when Sanjay hosted a party at his home recently, Dia was playing the perfect host and mingling with the guests. What more, she was also seen taking care of Sanjay’s little nephew.
Surely, there can be no smoke without fire !!!
Mahima to Wed in December ???
Mahima Chowdhry has moved on in life after her bitter split with Tennis star Leander Paes. According to reports, she has found love again in the arms of a Florida based bussinessman of Indian origin. Born and brought up in the States, he is one of the top industrialists in Florida.
Apparently, they met some time back when Mahima was performing for shows in the U.S and cupid struck. “At the moment,they are getting to know each other better. If everything falls into place, they are looking at a December wedding” confirms a source.
Mahima is currently in the U.S and she is not ready to talk about her love life so soon. We hope Mahima finds unlimited bliss in the U.S , oops…. did we say PARDES !!!
No premiere for ‘Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna’
Noted Filmmaker Karan Johar has called-off his plans to organise a premiere of his soon to be released multi-starrer ‘Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna’ .
According to Johar’s film banner Dharma Productions, the filmmaker is in no mood for celebration as Mumbai has seen lot of tragedies in the recent months, including the serial bomb blasts in local trains in which nearly 200 people were killed on July 11.
Karan will now directly release the movie on August 11 without much fanfare and glitz, which is normally associated with big banner Bollywood films.
‘Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’ has already created much hype , thanks to all the big stars who are working in it. KANK stars Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta and Rani Mukherjee .
Karan has earlier made blockbusters like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Kabhie Kushi Kabhie Gham’ and ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’. All his earlier films were mushy , romantic movies that could be watched with your family, but KANK deals with extra marital relationships. However, it needs to be seen whether the Indian audience accepts this kind of cinema.
Yuvraj is in Demand !!!
Yuvraj must be feeling really high of himself after an incident that took place sometime back. It was a catfight between two of Bollywood’s hot babes – Kim Sharma and Shamita Shetty at a Mumbai nightclub recently.
Kim was partying with her boyfriend Yuvraj Singh last week. “All was going well until Shamita Shetty turned up with her friends and started chatting with Yuvraj,” says a source.
“After a point Kim, who felt Shamita was getting too close to Yuvraj, lost her cool. Then, she showed her the finger and told her in no uncertain terms to back off!” informs the source.
Shamita did just that and the two stayed away from each other for the rest of the evening, thanks to friends who kept the two apart.
When contacted, Kim didn’t deny the incident. “I have nothing to do with her. Shamita Shetty is the most inconsequential person for me. She has always been unimportant to me. I’m a chilled out person and nothing can affect me,” she said.
But after hearing all this, we don’t think Kim is all that chilled out, do you ???
